Caelin Thomas's curator insight, March 26, 2015 12:29 AM

This Article is about a farmer who has taken an age old method and revamped it using robotics. His new idea was is instead of using huge man driven machines, he would invest in smaller robots that can work all day and all night. These newer robots are also vastly more fuel efficient and allow the farmers to start working on a better quality corps. Perfect example of robotics helping in the workforce.

Timothy McInnes's curator insight, March 22, 2015 5:27 AM

An article about how robots are even beginning to  replace our teachers schools.

Geoff Ahloy-Martin's curator insight, March 27, 2015 5:50 AM

Nobody denies that education is of paramount importance. The use of remote teaching tools such as the Telepresence Robot allows the teaching of lectures and classes without requiring the presence of teachers in the classroom. With new technologies that also aim to break language barriers, this is the beginning of a technology that could deliver education to very remote corners of the globe.

Brock Nicholls's curator insight, March 27, 2015 9:32 AM

Decarr, K (19 March, 2015). Telepresence Robots Bring Teachers into Classrooms. Education News.

http://www.educationnews.org/technology/telepresence-robots-bring-teachers-into-classrooms/

This is about the use of robots as teachers in the classroom. The robots discussed in the article don’t seem very smart but if the technology is advanced then we could possibly see robots replacing teachers in numerous places. This source gives us a starting idea of what robots would be like in classes.

Crystal Bellert's curator insight, March 27, 2015 3:48 AM

In the future, I would love to rehabilitate areas that have been through natural and unnatural disasters.  The clip discusses and shows technologies being developed to assist humans after a natural disaster has occurred.  These technologies could significantly help to decrease further deaths by analysing the situation before the required personnel put themselves in danger.  For example after a mud slide a robot can fly over the area and take data regarding the stability of the area, whilst locating potential survivors.  The data could help recovery teams to use the correct safety equipment and point them directly to survivors, saving time, which is critical in many of these situations.  I hope to learn more about these kinds of technologies and how they will assist in creating a safer and healthier work environment.
