Tesco's chief executive could be forgiven for being less than delighted to see me.

After the horse meat scandal, people believed Tesco was a supermarket not to be trusted. But the Chief executive says that he is devasted by the scandal and he wants to give more British food to British people and support British farmers. Although, I did just realise that I could have been eating horse meat...

It seems that George Osborne's perfect picture of Britain's economy getting back on track is just a fantasy. Exports are effectively unchanged, even to faster growing non European countries, Company investments have collapsed by 34%. For all we know this could get worse. Will Britain 'recover' or is this develpoing picture not the one George Osborne wanted.
