There are numerous foods which work together to deliver a one-two punch to halt cancerous tumor development. Green tea and tomatoes are two of those foods.
Tomatoes, as well as many other fruits, are full of a compound called lycopene – an antioxidant. It is a major carotenoid found in foods responsible for their red, orange, or yellow color. People who eat foods high in lycopene are known to have less incidence of cancer overall.
Green tea is also a known cancer fighter. Sipping on green tea sourced organically, and not full of pesticides, is one of the healthiest beverages you could drink. Just one of the compounds in this tea, called Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), can help stop cancer, improve brain functioning, and even help maintain a healthy weight. One study published in the journal Nutrients calls EGCG one of the ‘most effective cancer chemopreventative polyphenols.’
A Harvard study on green tea says that is can help with the prevention of numerous cancers, including: skin, breast, lung, colon, esophageal, and bladder cancer. Indeed, the connection between green tea and cancer is astounding.
