More children are becoming overweight and obese. Causes of obesity in children include unhealthy food choices, lack of physical activity and family eating habits.
Nicole Alkins's insight:

This site gave lots of information on how obesity effects children not only now but for there future. I found this website good because it shared detailed information about how children can become obese and that you can become obese through genetics. Obestity isn't only just in Australia it is a world wide issue which is sad because its not a good thing to have and especially as the obesity rates keep getting higher it just shows how much obesity is and is going to affect young children.

Parenting and Child Health - Health Topics - Nightmares

Parenting and Child Health - Health Topics - Nightmares | Health issues | Scoop.it
Nicole Alkins's insight:

As children grow up and experience more of what the world has to offer somet thhings can be quite scary and challenging, these few things can cause children to have nightmares and get scared. After reading the information that this website had to offer I gained more knowledge on why a child has nightmares and what the nightmares can be about. This is a health issue for children because things that harm them and can make them scared can travel with them all of there life so it is important to understand the dangers of nightmares and find ways in which to act on the way the child is feeling and make sure that they are happy and getting a good night sleep- because a bad night of sleep just leads to being tired.

Effects of child abuse and neglect for children and adolescents - Resource Sheet - Child Family Community Australia

Effects of child abuse and neglect for children and adolescents
Nicole Alkins's insight:

Reading this website gave me so much more of an outlook on the effects of child abuse on children. I never really understood how much it can impact a child now and in the future. The different types of abuse and neglect was another huge one for me also- the different types of health issues that can impact children is huge. The frequency of the abuse and neglect also has a huge impact because the more and more you do it the more they are reminded and shown that they aren't loved.
