I have recently eaten at a burger restaurant whose burgers are really big and even come with a side of chips. Their burgers and chips only come as one size and even though this was a bigger portion than I would probably usually eat I still managed to finish it and afterwards I felt way too full. I also find that eating with other people can influence portion sizes or how much someone eats. At t he burger place I may not have finished my meal but I was eating with two friends and they finished theirs so this encouraged me to finish mine also. Whereas if the restaurant had used this research and served a smaller portion then I would have still been filled up and not left hungry or wanting more so by using this research to start serving smaller portions at their restaurants then they would be saving themselves a lot if money.

I think its because they might find it awkward to just randomly go up to a guy and ask them to be friends. They might feel like they sound and look weird ;)
