Hone proper running form to get an edge in your next competition. You may think proper form deals only with the lower body, but how you pump your arms directly affects your performance as well. Train your arms to pump faster to directly impact your running speed development.

YEAR 10/12 HPE - BIOMECHANICS (TERM 2)

joe smith's comment, June 10, 2014 10:38 PM
this applies to our assessment as the first law states that an object in motion stays in motion and stopping makes it harder on our energy systems as an external force is needed then to restart ourselves again.

How to Apply Newton's Laws of Motion to Exercise | LIVESTRONG.COM | Physical Activity - What is it good for? | Scoop.it
The way you move when you exercise can be defined by Newton's laws of motion. Physical training methods are based on the laws of inertia, acceleration and counterforce. When you are physically active, you either move in a straight line or an angular motion which includes rotation, not forward motion. These movements, how fast you perform them and...

Are athletes really getting faster, better, stronger?

Are athletes really getting faster, better, stronger? | Physical Activity - What is it good for? | Scoop.it
When you look at sporting achievements over the last decades, it seems like humans have gotten faster, better and stronger in nearly every way. Yet as David Epstein points out in this delightfully counter-intuitive talk, we might want to lay off the self-congratulation. Many factors are at play in shattering athletic records, and the development of our natural talents is just one of them.

Tyler Owen's comment, June 6, 2014 10:39 PM
I think that students should not be forced to go to gym class or do exercise, its something you want to do not something you have to do, although exercise is an important part of every students life as it aids with being healthy. Mind set I believe is another problem if you don't believe you can do something people don't do it and some students have that so do not push themselves to the limit.
