Time to put the ATAR to the test

Last year more than 250,000 people applied for places in the hundreds of degrees offered by Australia’s 39 universities. So it stands to reason that any system of tertiary admission needs some sort of metric, a ranking device to compare would-be students.

For some reason we unlearn how to learn as we progress from elementary school through middle school and high school. And in a sense, maybe I’m bringing kindergarten back to college by having people talk to each other!
