Distance learning enhances writing on a daily basis!

Marisol Espinoza's curator insight, February 21, 2016 8:17 PM

I choose this topic to read about since I use to be a preschool teacher in high school it really is great to see articles that still want children to be good at writing and since I'm very passionate about children this article fit perfectly for me. I believe since our generation is filled with technology many kids aren't getting the tools they truly need before either entering school or during their learning in school. More parents are getting away from preparing their children for school by not teaching them any sort of writing skills or even reading, but for this article focused more on writing for children. I agreed highly on the topic of scaffolding meaning in short you help your children with the learning process. For example in the article a parent said "Scaffolding their children's writing, helping their children relate sounds to letters on the page even though the letters are nor transparent. The downfall is a lot of parent believe early writing actually is unimportant, but actually it helps your child's brain to wrap around the concept once they go to school and fully learn it because they have already started at home, it all ties into practice makes perfect. But I wish this article didn't focus so much on the Grapho-Phonemic Method and rather stretched out the different methods of learning for children.
