"In particular, that means support for WebGL — which was used most recently by the Cloud Party virtual world to create a Second Life-style immersive experience right in a Web browser, no download required. The end result should make it easier to create Web-based virtual world browsers without worrying about making it work with particular equipment." wrote Maria Korolov.
The Kitely Calendar is attracting more event listings. Just having the calendar seems to have stimulated more events. At this time, most days in the near term are showing two or three events. This article is intended to tell users and event managers how to make the best use of the Kitely calendar, and of other calendars like it.
Thinkerer uses the Kitely virtual world calendar as an example, but the techniques applies to any organization's events calendar using Google calendar.

Have you heard of interactive fiction? Years ago it started with those old Choose-Your-Own-Adventure novels where the authors had written multiple endings and paths to get through the story depending on which choice the reader made at the end of...
Examiner.com Could Second Life go the way of Cloud Party? Examiner.com This writer originally migrated to Second Life in 2004 from a different virtual world because of Linden Lab's policy of explicitly granting IP ownership rights to creators.
An article by Bixyl Shuftan who interviewed Elenia Llewellyn, one of the three founders of InWorldz -- Legion Hienrichs, and Tranquility Dexler are the other two (avatar names). I really love InWorldz because of the founders and the residents. It is a beautiful world and the developers are so responsive to our needs. Residents are very supportive of the new Community Library we are building on Sendalonde in Elf Clan on InWorldz. InWorldz currently has 92,200 registered residents and expects to top 100,000 early this coming year.
A plug for our library that was not mentioned in the interview: Grand Opening of the new library is January 11, 2013 at noon. See http://metaverselibrary.com/

This is good news for creators who sell through Kitely Market, though High Fidelity is not a viable product yet.
It does not happen often that I have to leave Second Life and enter a different virtual world, in order to complete a blogpost on an art installation, but “Ghosts of the Internet” by Glyph Graves made me do it!
This is big news. Kitely first got Kitely Marketplace working with the additional export permission. New server code at Kitely honors the export permission, so you should not be able to take any of your inventory with you that does not have export permissions. Think about what you are wearing before gridhopping!

2014 will bring some exciting changes to the InWorldz platform that will improve upon the performance, reliability and features of the virtual world that many of you call home.
This is an enlightening blog posting about both ongoing, completion and new projects that the virtual world grid, InWorldz, has on their agenda for 2014. InWorldz Viewer V2 will be made the default. [Aside: Mac users still cannot see video on video screens in InWorldz. As a Mac user, this bothers me and hampers some of my activities in InWorldz.] The fine-tuning of region crossings is still being worked on and they hope they will solve the issues in 2013 Q1. There is a whole lot more, so check it out.
