This is a tough one, because people outside the U.S. can have real difficulty buying Lindens directly from the Lab. However, I know of two SL users who had their Linden's drained by another avatar (using a scripted object), who then traded out what they'd taken via one of these exchanges. The exchange wasn't a direct party to the theft, just the mechanism the thief used before the Lab was able to remove the avatar from the grid. Delete the scoop?

Always good news to know academics are giving value to DGBL, but the article makes it sound like research on using games (and particularly WoW and other MMORPGS) for learning/language learning is a new thing. Scott Thorne and Hayo Reinders have published extensively in using them for EFL.
