If you want a seamless guest experience your hotel needs to have a story Heres an example how to turn story ...
This is a quick yet very insightful article linking the interior design of a hotel, storytelling, and women's liberation.
"Whaaaaattttt??!!" you say. Yep. It's a perfect example of how a hotel got creative and leveraged storytelling in order to market themselves more effectively, and increase sales.
The post about a New York City hotel that originally opened as the Hotel Martha Washington. It was the first hotel in the country specially designed for women only. Based on the the building's history, the new owners of the hotel created a persona that typified women who stayed at the hotel.
From there they created interior designs that connected together its history, the contributions of 12 women to our world, their identified persona, and their marketing efforts. Brilliant!
I love how this company translated storytelling into the physical world through its interior designs. More companies need to be doing this for enhancing both employee and customer experiences/engagement.
For all the details, go read this article. Like a chocolate truffle, it's small but rich with a lasting impression!
In an unexpected move, six of the largest hotel companies in the world have partnered to launch a hotel search engine of their own, dubbed Roomkey.com. The hotel companies hope that offering a ‘personalized experience’ and ‘accurate information’ will make travelers choose for them when they search for accommodation.
Choice Hotels International, Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, InterContinental Hotels Group, Marriott International and Wyndham Hotel Group teamed up to start Roomkey.com to, in their own words, “provide travelers a search and book experience tailored for ease of hotel shopping through an uncluttered and trustworthy site”.

Wine and football. A measure to give the Miami Dolphins $3 million a year in sales tax rebates and hotel bed tax money has been rapidly advancing through the Legislature.
Now it’s time for the Jacksonville Jaguars to finally hit the field of legislative committee rooms. A proposal (SB 922) by Sen. Rob Bradley, R-Fleming Island, would allow $2 million a year in sales tax rebates for stadium improvements to go to a pro sports team that already receives a similar break. Terms of the deal require a team to plan more than $80 million in upgrades and to have at least 15 years remaining on its stadium lease.
EverBank Field in Jacksonville is one of eight stadiums and arenas in Florida currently receiving sales tax rebates from Florida. The committee will also review the Florida Wine Canister Act (SB 658) that would allow distributors to make and sell "wine kegs" or large containers of wine. The luxury hotel market has witnessed major – even massive – activity in the past decade and more, and that activity continues unabated today. Time, then for some analysis of what exactly is going on in this sector, and why.
