Marketers Are Not Publishing Enough Content

Marketers Are Not Publishing Enough Content | H2H Marketing | Scoop.it
Yes, you need quality. But you also need quantity.
Fabrizio Faraco's insight:

we also live in a time when the half-life of content is shorter than ever. In a river of tweets or a flood of a Facebook newsfeed, even the most interesting content will last only a few hours (maybe a day if you're lucky). This is further complicated by the fundamental nature of social media, a place where friends and acquaintances connect and not necessarily the ideal place for a brand to try to make some noise.

How to Transform Your Social Media Connections Into Real-Life Relationships

How to Transform Your Social Media Connections Into Real-Life Relationships | H2H Marketing | Scoop.it
Want to use social media to build real-life relationships? Check out this post to get some tips.
Fabrizio Faraco's insight:

Building relationships in social media isn't easy. It isn't second nature, and it takes a ton of time. But if done right, solid social media relationships can be very helpful in developing and maintaining strong "real-life" relationships.

There's even data to prove it. A study conducted by The Pew Internet & American Life Project revealed that 91% of people use social media to stay in touch with close friends, 86% of people use it to connect with an old friend they have lost touch with, and 49% of people use it to connect with people who have similar hobbies or interests.

Plugging into the Future of Humanity: Exploring the Human API - Brian Solis

Plugging into the Future of Humanity: Exploring the Human API - Brian Solis | H2H Marketing | Scoop.it

I had the opportunity to present at LeWeb in Paris, arguably Europe’s largest conference dedicated to the future of technology. The theme of the conference explored the Internet of Things, where devices and things connect to one another to perform certain tasks and/or track activities to improve what we already do or make possible what we’re trying to do.

Fabrizio Faraco's insight:

The Internet of Things is bigger than we may realize. We are experiencing a shift from a world of inanimate objects and reactive devices to a world where data, intelligence, and computing are distributed, ubiquitous, and networked. My fellow analysts and I at Altimeter Group refer to the Internet of Things (IoT) as the Sentient World. It’s the idea that inanimate objects gain the ability to perceive things, perform tasks, adapt, or help you adapt over time. And, it’s the future of the Internet and consumer electronics.

10 Ideas to promote your brand on Vine | Antonio Calero | H2H Marketing | Scoop.it
Vine, the micro-video application, is a great tool to boost your online presence and promote your brand. These 10 ideas will help you out in creating engaging content.
Fabrizio Faraco's insight:

It is the online application of the “elevator pitch”, where someone asks you at an elevator “what do you do for work?” – or “what does your company do?”. You have a very limited amount of time to explain it before the elevator arrives to the destination floor, most times just some seconds.

The idea of Vine is pretty much the same. In simple terms, it could be described as:

Tune in with Twitter TV - Brian Solis | H2H Marketing | Scoop.it

Have you ever watched TV while using a laptop, smart phone, or tablet? Wait, why am I asking. Of course you have. That’s what we all do now right? So I guess the real question to ask is how often do you use Twitter vs. Facebook while watching TV? In many ways, Twitter is becoming a bona fide second screen experience while watching television. And in many ways, TV may also serve as the second screen to those engrossed in their Twitter streams. If you think about it, the idea that the TV becomes the second screen to digital experiences is rather provocative. Perhaps this is why Twitter is making some notable moves in the television analytics market recen

Want to learn how social media can scale? Use this strategy and it cannot fail.
Fabrizio Faraco's insight:

Remember when social media was social? Now, among the deluge of complaints, emoticons, and spam, individuals and businesses alike now find it nearly impossible to find and manage those one-to-one conversations that matter. Instead, social media strategies have become automated, impersonal, and actually contribute further to the exact problem they were put out there to solve for: streams of noise, shouting, and irrelevant messages.

Getting Back to Basics: Why Brands are Getting it Wrong in Social Media - Brian Solis

Getting Back to Basics: Why Brands are Getting it Wrong in Social Media - Brian Solis | H2H Marketing | Scoop.it

Question: What is your #1 advice for social media strategists and managers?

Answer: Stop talking about social media

Fabrizio Faraco's insight:

Type “social media” into a Google search bar and you’ll find roughly about 4.7 billion results in .30 seconds. Next, try “social media conference.” You’ll see something along the lines of 1.2 billion results in .25 seconds. Social media is important but I’d argue we aren’t celebrating it for the reasons we should. Instead, we are forcing social media to conform to traditional thinking and processes rather than adapting business philosophies and supporting methodologies to meet new opportunities.

Fabrizio Faraco's insight:

Brand stories can be told in many different forms, with an evolving story line and cast of characters, but content creators must be vigilant about continuity and consistency, avoiding any holes. Your brand’s story has to resonate with people at a level that goes way beyond what’s tangible — the functionality, features, and benefits of your products or services — to create a deep, emotional connection with your audience. You have to create something that they want to be a part of and show that you really “get” who they are and what they need.

Fabrizio Faraco's insight:

Content marketing still an be used as a form of advertisement, but more in the form of product placement to certain solutions. People usually do not tend to search for a product, say a drilling machine. Instead they are most likely searching for a solutions that will help them get a hole in a wall. POssible solutions will then be talked about and evaluated in our modern times of social discussions. If your content is helpful and supportive to the community, it is likely to be shared and spread across the net.

Disruptive Selection: Nature’s Way of Weeding Out the Average Business - Brian Solis

Disruptive Selection: Nature’s Way of Weeding Out the Average Business - Brian Solis | H2H Marketing | Scoop.it

Disruption!

It’s everywhere. I live in Silicon Valley where many say that the terms disrupt and disruption have becomebuzzwords. Pundits believe that the word is losing its promise and impact through the acts and examples of entrepreneurs and businesses that misuse the word to describe intentions rather than associating it with a desired or natural effect.

Fabrizio Faraco's insight:

Like it or not, disruption is a natural part of life. I refer to this phenomenon as Digital Darwinism, when society and technology evolve faster than the ability to adapt. Every so often something comes along and completely upsets the norm. And this is only accelerating. Either you’re disrupting or you’re at risk of getting disrupted.

What's So New About Content Marketing? | H2H Marketing | Scoop.it

What's so new about content marketing? The "nothing new here" brigade has a point: Content has always been an important part of many marketing plans (generally the better ones).

Fabrizio Faraco's insight:

Content has always been an important part of many marketing plans (generally the better ones). But clearly, something unique is going on here.

Somewhere along the line, something changed to turn that “little thing we’ve always done” into this big, voracious thing that’s eating up every budget. Something had to have happenedto release the beast we now know as content marketing.
