Since most of our Bread, Cereal, Rice and Pasta are highly processed, I would recommend that that the foundation of the pryradmid be vegetables. Adding steel cut oats, and brown rice are the healthiest alternatives; avoiding bread and cold cereals and most pastas is a wise choice. I would also eliminate the milk, yougurt and cheese category in regards to daily consumption. Drink water! Enjoy ice cream or frozen yogurt on occasion. Dried beans are a wonderful protein source. Keep meat to a minimum, used as a flavor enhancer rather than as a main dish.

Consider the Paleo Diet. The most attractive factor is the elimination of processed foods. We really need to eliminate processed foods from our diets. Hey, leave some of these items out where ants have access to them. If the ants and other insects won't eat it, maybe we shouldn't either!!
