Mobile devices have expanded the notion of where and how we work, and are already surpassing desktop computers. In particular, they are simultaneously creating the need and the ability to collaborate.
The onsite worker can provide the data, through sensors, video cameras, location and so on which are then transmitted over to the remote expert for their evaluation.
The two then discuss approach and technique to perform the activity. For example, the on-site worker may take several snapshots or data points about the tree and allow a little time for one or several experts to weigh in on approach. The on-site person then may choose or accept the best suggestion from the experts—this is collective intelligence at play.
