Food isn’t something you should have to worry about; however, even in developed countries like the UK, we’re still seeing around 6% of adults in the UK having to pay for food on credit (in July 2013), causing families to have an increased level of debt.

Debt Advisory Centre has created this infographic to highlight how much we could save if we were more careful with what we spend on food. This could go some way to reducing debt levels for families living in the UK – and cutting food wastage too.

In the US, the cuts in SNAP (food stamps) is critical to people's welfare. The two primary programs to supplement or meet food needs are SNAP and food pantries.
