A song from a greek band called Mpliax 166. you can find them here :) Facebook : http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mpliax-166/134185326634551?ref=ts
Tzwrtzhs Papastathopoulos's insight:

This is the most famous pop punk band of Greece and this is their hit song that made them popular throughout Greece... They actually gave a sign in Greece that pop punk is alive in Greece and is here to stay.
They have released 2 albums the first one 2009 “Άντε Αγαπηθείτε Όλοι” which practically means "Good ridance to you all".
And the second album was released in 2011 "Γυμνοδρομίες" which means "Running naked"

Check them on facebook if you want to learn more https://www.facebook.com/mpliax166

Tzwrtzhs Papastathopoulos's insight:

This is a scoop about the upcoming scene of Pop punk in greece...

Pop punk exists in Greece many years... teenagers of the 90's listened to pop punk bands (such as Green Day and Blink-182 etc.)

But the last few years we can see many upcoming bands in this particular genre.. not famous or mainstream though.. it's more like an underground scene even though it's "POP" punk, because in Greece pop punk is not so wide spread or familiar to people.

So this is my personal attempt to make you who read this get to know some of these bands :D

Pop punk - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pop punk (or pop-punk) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of punk rock with pop music, to varying degrees. Allmusic describes the genre as a strand of alternative rock, which typically merges pop melodies with speedy punk tempos, chord changes and loud guitars.[1]About.com has described contemporary pop punk bands as having "a radio friendly sheen to their music, but still maintaining much of the speed and attitude of classic punk rock".[2]

It is not clear when the term pop punk was first used, but pop-influenced punk rock had been around since the mid- to late-1970s.[3] An early use of the term pop punk appeared in a 1977 New York Times article, "Cabaret: Tom Petty's Pop Punk Rock Evokes Sounds of 60s".[4] In the mid-1990s, the California pop punk bands Green Day and The Offspring, who were later followed by Blink-182 and subsequently by Fall Out Boy, would all achieve worldwide commercial success. From the mid-1990s onwards, some bands associated with the genre have been described as "happy punk," "faux-punk," "mall punk," "pseudo-punk," "bubblegum punk," or "hardcore pop." [5][6] While some bands of the genre achieved massive international commercial success, most competed against the mainstream music industry, and the genre saw a decline by the 2010s.

This is for those who aren't familiar with pop-punk
