Smart marketers such as GE, Maybelline and others are thinking about distribution from the outset.
Jennifer Beever's insight:

Repurposing is big for marketers, and this article has some good points. Big brands are creating several pieces for each platform, rather than creating one piece like a video and then trying to retrofit it for multiple uses. And, marketers should get the rights to repurpose once something is published at least once.

I appreciate Joe's insights on how LinkedIn has changed group management, but I myself would prefer to just participate in the groups online and not receive emails. Manufacturers Must Create Websites with Millennials in Mind - Dianna Huff | B2B Marketing Online | Scoop.it
Manufacturers websites need to be responsive, filled with information Millennials want, and easy to use - especially for applying for jobs.
Jennifer Beever's insight:

Watch the video of a millennial critiquing a manufacturer's website on their cell phone. And the website being critiqued is even responsive (designed to respond and resize to different devices); it's just hard to navigate! This is key to understanding why B2B marketers need to update their websites - the millennials aren't just coming, they're already here!

I like this quote, "UX design thinking is like a cognitive sore thumb." In other words, once you begin to notice what doesn't work on websites, you will see more and more problems everywhere.

3 Ways Any Business Can Market on Pinterest |

3 Ways Any Business Can Market on Pinterest | | B2B Marketing Online | Scoop.it
Do you need ideas to use Pinterest as a marketing tool? This article shows 3 ways you can market on Pinterest no matter what your industry or niche.
Jennifer Beever's insight:

I thought this article has some good ideas. I was very surprised that brands are not only reaching out to "superpinners" but paying them (the example was Honda's release of a car and superpinners were asked to drive around for 24 hours and pin images from their drives)! I also thought the Wall Street Journal idea of making images of exceptional quotes from articles was good.

Ahmed Alkandari's curator insight, September 21, 10:22 PM

Pinterest may not suit all companies because it's built around pictures. This article discusses three marketing tactics that companies can use on Pinterest.

1- Highlight your strengths: In order to get to where you want to be in Pinterest, you should have a very good content that stands out in a pinner's feed.

2- Share valuable data: If you are sharing an infographic, it may take up a lot of space in the Pinterest feed and it won't work perfectly on the mobile app. Therefore, slide share is a better and more interactive alternative for the infographic picture. It has the advantage of browsing all the slides without leaving Pinterest page; even if your slides contain links.

3- Partner with super pinners: Word-of-mouth marketing and social proof can do wonders for your click-throughs. If you have a partner who have a large following, he will help you become famous and more known on Pinterest.

You don't have to conform to the same Pinterest formula as everyone else, you can make your own company culture and personality.

This article was very interesting for me and it added a lot on my knowledge about Pinterest. I created a Pinterest account for a class before but i didn't like it! I found it complicated. By reading this article, i realized that Pinterest have many pros and many advantages; especially about slide share. I think it's also a great tool for companies to market their product because it build up around pictures which drags attention and it also have the feed box to add details. In the feed box, you can highlight and change the font size for the details that you want people to pay more attention to. It also says on the article that companies can bring their own culture and personality to the platform and capitalize on being different. They also mentioned on the article that companies should focus on their feeds and use high quality information and pictures to drag their Pinterest audience to visit their website.
