Mikhail Mishainik reveals the wonders of Russia's salt mines

Mikhail Mishainik reveals the wonders of Russia's salt mines | slow-design | Scoop.it

Mikhail Mishainik demonstrates this perfectly with his images of Russian salt mines, which he managed to capture by venturing 650-feet below the city of Yekaterinburg, Russia. Spotted over at HUH Magazine, the naturally psychedelic mines are stunning with floor to ceiling swirls of earthy browns and oranges, interspersed with greens and rusty purples.

Ribbonesia : artistes japonais travaillant la matière | slow-design | Scoop.it

Designer / Art Director based in Tokyo. |Yuma Kano, born in Tochigi,Japan in 1988, became an assistant of the artist Yasuhiro Suzuki after graduating from Tokyo Zokei University. In spring of 2012 he opened his own design office, studio yumakano. The studio—located in a shipyard established in the Edo era—questions what daily life, emotion, and function really are through different interior, architecture art, and installation designs with a focus on product design.
The design concept is to show the future just a half-step ahead by giving a new inspiration and meaning to a universal event in the regular daily life.
Eliciting a personal emotion is an important function.
