Alisia Menegotti's insight:

God forgives me?

Clayton Jennings is a man in this scoop who, as a high schooler, used to work in the clean up department of a car dealership. He also being a follower of God fuses the two facts of himself to present an analogy that gives us a better understanding of appearances and forgiveness. You can see contrast depending on where you are standing. The closer you are the better a look there is at the details of what something is like. This works at both ends of the street with cars and with people. The example car given is a lovely and expensive orange corvette. As the vehicle rolls up the state of that car seemed to be in a very excellent condition, though as the camera zoomed in on the features you were able to see that it was not so much excellent as it was dirty. Clayton mentions that he has taken this notice and further explains how we are so similar to these vehicles and what we are able to do to get clean again, as we are all dirtier than we may appear.

What does forgiveness have to do with anything?

This scoop is of a video in relation to confessional prayers from our prayer and scripture unit. A prayer of confession is confessing our sins and seeking forgiveness of any damage we have done to God’s creations. When we sin guilt and shame may manifest itself. We are soon affected by these acts that they begin to become a part of our lives. Dirt and dust will collectively come to be our appearance and lead others astray. Forgiveness is almost as if receiving a free car wash. It is the equivalent to so because if we can just make our way to confessing as to how we got so dirty to God and ask to be cleaned, it will be done. For God is ever loving and forever forgiving, he believes in giving multiple chances in order for you to be free from sin. This car analogy helps in understanding that it is acceptable that we may sin because humans make mistakes and we are able to continue to ask for and be forgiven by God. The way in which we have learned to ask for so is through prayer. A way for God to see closely just how you have gotten this way and free anybody of any acts that have made us sinners.

How can I forgive?

Mistakes, sin, and regret all eat us up from the inside. We may try to ignore the feeling or nagging from our conscience yet the troublesome voice remains. If only we allowed ourselves to get personal with God and closer to him would he see just exactly all of what has been our burdens. If we did God’s response would forever be: I will make you clean, I will restore you, and I will give you life. All of what he is saying is that he will forgive you no matter what you may have done. All we have to do is go to him and allow him to lay his eyes upon the dirt, the grime and the sin. He will restore and he will clean us of everything. We are not required to do it ourselves, nor are we required to put on a more appealing act in order to seem as less of a mess. Go as you are and God will accept your apology over and over again. Why? Because, he loves you.

No arms.., No legs.., No worries! - Nick Vujicic (HK) - YouTube

No Arms, No Legs, No Worries!!! :) Nicholas James Vujicic (born 4 December 1982) is a preacher, a motivational speaker and the Director of Life Without Limbs...
Alisia Menegotti's insight:

 Nick Vujicic and his story:

The title of this video says it all, “No arms.., No legs.., No worries!” Nick Vujicic is thirty-one years old, married, has recently had his first child and was born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder that causes him to have no arms and no legs. In this video, clips of Nick are shown doing everyday activities a not so ordinary way. He has had many struggles in the past though has found strength and the sparkle in his eye through the help of family and friends but owes it all to his faith. Alongside the clips of what you think are his struggles, Nick is preaching about the Lord. Nick is an evangelist who is thankful for what he has and focuses on all the good there is. Nick has come to the realization that his disability is an advantage for him to share his story and encourage others who may and may not have his or any disability. Having no arms and legs limits Nick to an extent, but shares with us that his motivation is his desire to live life to the fullest. What he plainly wants is to not have these limitations, though since he does he makes the most out of what he is given. He is a determined, inspirational man who does not allow any obstacles to stop him from achieving whatever it is he may set out to do. In this video you will see through his personality and outlook just how he does live his life with no worries.

Nick Vujicic and the connections:

Nick’s story specifically relates to one of the four cardinal virtues that we learned this year in religion. As many can agree this man has demonstrated the virtue of fortitude. Despite his disability Nick shows strength through enduring his adversity with great courage. He displays that it does not matter what someone’s physical capabilities may be but the capability of our hearts and God’s love. It seems Nick has come to terms emotionally and mentally with whom he is and that this disability does not define or alter who that is. Though over some time and searching has he come to such a realization. What Nick states he was searching for was a purpose. If he could not do some of the everyday things everybody is able to, then anything greater could not be possible. Although he finds strength within himself, with the aid of God in order to have a more positive outlook on the subject. He goes on through life now preaching to others about his strength and where and how he has acquired it.

Nick Vujicic and why this is important:

Nowadays there is more stress and pressure to do the best and be the best no matter what. We seem to forget that we do not have to suffer on our own when we are faced with pain or difficulties in life, such as Nick. To be strong and have fortitude is seen as a virtue or characteristic that a person who perseveres has. Except we are told that these people are independent and do not rely on others due to the fact they are able to do it themselves. This is one of the biggest lies, as Nick says, we are telling ourselves. Nick preaches that we cannot get through the tough times without someone to help us. He got through his struggle of having no arms or legs with help from God. God gives his undying love and forgiveness for all we could possibly do if we just take the steps to ask. God will not come to you; you are going to have to find him. Nick found him and came to his realization of how great he is through God’s eyes. I think this video shows everyone that we need to relieve our burdens and doubts on God and see ourselves as well as life through his eyes.

What is Love || Spoken Word - YouTube

What is Love || Spoken Word ; written and performed by Echo. Directed, shot, and produced by Ryan Paul Buck and Ryan Paul Buck Productions. What is Love? Our...
Alisia Menegotti's insight:

What is –the video?

A rapper preaching about love. This rapper goes by the name Echo and who visually is the center of attention in the video, although verbally it is all about the love. He compares our society’s views today with what love actually is meant to be. It is our “love” versus Jesus’ love and what we are taught. On the one hand of society we are constantly being reminded of looks and only the feeling as well as sexual relations in our relationships. Genuinely we are not digging beneath the surface. Sharing some stimulating and yet obvious insight, Echo opens your eyes to true love and what it is to love as well as be in love.

What is-the relation?

The story of a boy named Jake and the author of the article in which we read, “Turning Points”, relates to what this rapper Echo is saying. He is speaking to an audience about what real love is because we have seemed to have lost the true emotion in our relationships. This article is about an abusive relationship and how it was once love though becomes but pain and torture as Echo also preaches, love turning into pain. This girl continues in this relationship with the “man” for the reason that she loves him, at least what she believes to be love. A quote from the rapper is “ ‘Cause daddy wanted more each day and mamma gave all he could take” The abusive relationship of the couple came to be this state by the author giving all she could for him and the relationship except Jake wanted something more, thus abuse came into play. Echo continues to say, “And now more and more each day you think love is just a mistake, so why would you go through that pain?” which is exactly the purpose of what the author writing the article is trying to avoid with others in these types of relationships. She wants to help herself as well as others through tough times like this so their relationships with future others are not ruined due to lack of confidence and issues in opening up and trust.

What is-the impact?

Acting on your feelings because it is what the heart wants is a justification used monotonously regardless of the truth. The truth that is it is not what the heart desires, but what the body and hormones crave. Echo is able to clearly interpret to us how love is deeper and intimidating in ways we may not realize. I am sure many can relate to shutting people down or out in those ways in which he mentioned just because we felt uncomfortable with opening up to who we truly are. If you were to take anything away from this video I would choose for that to be love accepts everyone for who they are. Your past mistakes do not define who you are and love, true love can surely not be slain. Jesus will always be there and is the example you should look towards as a role model for that love.
