How do we decide who we are? Hetain Patel's surprising performance plays with identity, language and accent -- and challenges you to think deeper than surface appearances.
kristen king's insight:
In this video Hetain Patel shows us, how we decided who we are. Along with his partner, dancer Yuyu Rau, he shows us different ways that we decide who we are but do not realize it. In the begining of this video Patel pretends to be someone who he is not. he does this because he thinks that "immatating someone can reveal something unique"
There are times when i wonder if this is actually me or have i been pretending to be someone for so long that i cant tell the difference anymore. Seeing this video made me feel like maybe this is me. Maybe somewhere along the lines of trying to be someone im not, i finally found my self.
Throughout this video i have learned that, we all at many points in our life try to be someone we are not. Whether its to impress someone or just fit in. I always thought it was bad to pretend to be someone you are not, but now i see that it can also be a good thing. We all learn from our mistakes, just like how we learn who we really are by coppying someone.
