Search for syria | Government Concealment | Scoop.it
Article, Video, Blog, Slideshow, and Interactive results for syria
Ashe Allende's insight:

This search shows lots of articles this month regarding Syria.  The search on msnbc's website revealed only 6 results this month for the keyword "Syria."  Much of the media bias in the modern world comes, not from how stories are approached, but from the lack of stories altogether.  msnbc chooses to not print stories so that it can support the Democratic party's attempt to push it under the bridge, as the Obama administration should do to keep high approval ratings.  This gap in the amount of search results is very drastic, and shows that the media, even by what is printed, is biased.

The GOP’s scandal-mania

The GOP’s scandal-mania | Government Concealment | Scoop.it
From the IRS to Benghazi to attacks on Attorney General Eric Holder, some on the right are happy to jump from one phony scandal to another. Joe Madison and Bill Press discuss.
Ashe Allende's insight:

This is a video clip from a recent msnbc show that supports the validity of the claim that msnbc only has 15% news, and the rest is opinion and analysis.  Americans, however, need to know what is happening around the world because the people (not the current government) must elect their representatives.  This government was established for the people, therefore the people have every right to know what has happened in Benghazi and with the IRS.  The people that msnbc is targets are simply demanding answers, and they are not receiving any information.  I try to see the best in people, but, to earn my respect, I require someone to be trustworthy, and a large portion of the American population (number in survey already scooped) does not trust our government.  How can a functional society exist when people don't trust the people in charge?  Why is it a crime to demand answers?  The First Amendment gives me the right to demand information, and I may speak about whatever I choose, whether the government likes it or not.  Finally, when approaching the budget topics, Republicans aren't the only ones spending money as the first family has taken quite a few trips to Hawaii in the past few years.

Pew Study Finds MSNBC the Most Opinionated Cable News Channel By Far

Pew Study Finds MSNBC the Most Opinionated Cable News Channel By Far | Government Concealment | Scoop.it
If you're like most cable news viewers, you probably think the channel you favor has a monopoly on the facts and the other ones are nothing more than a bunch of ranting. In fact, which cable network is the most opinionated is not a matter of opinion. It's MSNBC.
Ashe Allende's insight:

CNN has doubled it's interviews between 2007 and 2012 where Fox news stayed constant.  CNN and Fox News currently have about the same balance of factual reporting because of CNN's shift.

Syria: Bashar al-Assad 'launching chemical weapons attacks with chlorine' - Telegraph

Syria: Bashar al-Assad 'launching chemical weapons attacks with chlorine' - Telegraph | Government Concealment | Scoop.it
Syria's Bashar al-Assad continues to launch chemical attacks, Western officials believe, using lethal chlorine gas first used during the First World War
Ashe Allende's insight:

Why is this not on any major US news sites?  Why hasn't the Obama administration addressed this? This seems to have been hushed up in the US (this is a British article).  Is this the Obama administration's attempt to cover up their inability to limit the use of these weapons, or is it just "not relevant?"

Political Party Affiliation Varies Among U.S. News Sites

Political Party Affiliation Varies Among U.S. News Sites | Government Concealment | Scoop.it
Fox News, MSNBC and CNN websites have readership with varying political affiliations
Ashe Allende's insight:

This is very interesting as many people who have "no party affiliation" are watching MSNBC and CNN, two news stations that are associated with more liberal beliefs.  This media influence may be responsible for some of the recent elections and even some of the dis-interest in recent affairs in Benghazi, Syria, and the IRS.  This could result in a group of undecided people leaning to the left because of a biased media source.

Fox News Poll: Voters say Obama covering up on Benghazi; 49 percent believe White House had IRS target conservatives

Fox News Poll: Voters say Obama covering up on Benghazi; 49 percent believe White House had IRS target conservatives | Government Concealment | Scoop.it
Ashe Allende's insight:

This is a Fox News survey that speaks about the transparency of the Benghazi attacks and the IRS scandal in the beginning of the year.  The results show that people have begun to care less about the problems as time has passed, even though they don't trust the government (37% of people believe that the President lies about important matters most of the time).  This is not good in a country that is governed by a representative republic.

VALLELY: Obama’s Benghazi cover-up

VALLELY: Obama’s Benghazi cover-up | Government Concealment | Scoop.it
Thirty-four Americans at the U.S. Special Mission and CIA Annex in Benghazi were attacked by Islamic terrorists in two waves, the first starting at 9:40 p.m. the evening of Sept. 11, 2012.
Ashe Allende's insight:

This exposes a couple facts along with a timeline.  According to this article, there was cover-up by editing of reports and by not admitting facts.  The administration attempted to slide the blame onto the CIA, but the CIA deflected the blame back to the Obama administration, and there was no answer.  This occurred before his election, and the media failed to publicize this issue.  Thus, the media (especially liberal media) decided to let this issue slide in order to get the president, who was at least partially responsible for the ambassador's death, reelected.  If this true, is this a news source, or are these places just reporting what they want to report?  And what can we believe from our government?  People were pointing fingers at each other, and someone had to be lying.
