Who's Sorry Now

Who's Sorry Now | Gov&Law-Jack T. Nelson | Scoop.it
Supreme Court justices sometimes have second thoughts. The latest is the retired Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, who thinks the court made a mistake by intervening in the disputed 2000 Florida election.
Jack T. Nelson's insight:

Interesting article about how Sandra Day O'Connor thinks the Supreme Court made a mistake.  Its funny to see her now come out about it and speak up.  If it was a problem they shouldn't of stepped in it in the first place.

I feel it would have been more major if they confessed back in 2000 but now there probably isnt much they can do about it.
Christian Kerr's comment, May 13, 2013 10:08 AM
Hindsight is always 20/20. It's so easy to looks back and criticize someone. She should have done something back in 2000, rather than wait 13 years and talk about it now.

Obama Can’t Resist Blame Game in Congress’s Absence | Gov&Law-Jack T. Nelson | Scoop.it
With Congress out of town for the week, President Obama tried to remind the country that he’s not Capitol Hill’s babysitter-in-chief.

This was interesting to see Baracka Flocka lay down the law with Congress, basically telling them he can't watch over them the whole time.  Congress needs to get it together.

Great example of people using the first amendment to speak out against gun control in AZ.
Christian Kerr's comment, April 18, 2013 6:55 PM
I think the US is going in the wrong direction with all these gun bans. Everyone has a right to bear arms, plain and simple. Making them harder to get or banner them will not stop crime. It's time to see that we should be focusing more on the type of people who commit crimes than the type of weapon they use.

1 TRILLION!!!! This is good and bad for our country, he is raising the taxes on the rich and lowering it on the poor but at the same time he is pissing off the Republicans.
Christian Kerr's comment, April 11, 2013 4:35 PM
Acts like this are the reason we are in such a huge financial hole. The democratic party only sees taxing as a way to decrease the deficit but they are so wrong. Obama needs to open his eyes. The only way to lower the deficit is to increase the middle class. Create jobs that employ middle class level work, and that will grow the economy. The only way to shrink the debt is to grow the economy. The republican party has always believed this is the right way, and they are correct. We have taxed and taxed and taxed and it has only proved to create a small amount of revenue for the debt. It is time to try something new!

I'm with Jacky boy on this one! I think that the U.S. allowing gay marriage is a step towards equality and a step forward for the country. It shows that we truly do allow freedom and equality for all. I think to fulfill the Constitution we have to allow gay marriage to prove we provide freedom for all.
