Great ideas for using screencast tools in a flipped or blended setting.
Allan Shaw's curator insight, February 4, 3:50 PM

Screencasting has potential for allowing students to publish their learning to a real audience and thus can build engagement and positivity. We can easily underestimate the importance in the development of cognitive and social skills of public speaking and the creation of material for others to consider.

Patricia Flavin's curator insight, February 5, 8:37 AM

I've had student leaders (coaches) try screencasting. Although at first it's work but so worth it - a win-win situation for all.

How to Institutionalise Innovation - INSEAD

How to Institutionalise Innovation - INSEAD | Communication design | Scoop.it

Family firms provide lessons in creating continuously innovative companies. The words “family firms” and “innovation” seem to be at odds. Family firms smack of tight control, risk aversion, lengthy CEO tenure, existing in traditional industries and products. Some research has gone as far as saying that family ownership harms innovation for these very reasons. Others say it benefits innovation. But both arguments miss a fundamental variable that determines the innovative edge of a family firm: its “family assets.

A World without Work?

A World without Work? | Communication design | Scoop.it

The Fourth Industrial Revolution is upon us. How will it affect our jobs?

The economist John Maynard Keynes predicted that by 2030 we would only work three hours a day because machines would be doing our jobs for us. However, he also recognised that work gives our lives meaning and brings stability to societies. So the question above is much bigger than “are we going to be unemployed?” It’s also about how technological progress will revolutionize the world of work.

Meanwhile, we are living longer, healthier lives, which – with the spending power of those over the age of 60 expected to rise to $15 trillion by 2020 - is an opportunity for economies.
