The shocking minutes relating to President Putin’s meeting this past week with US Secretary of State John Kerry reveal the Russian leaders “extreme outrage” over the Obama regimes continued protection of global seed and plant bio-genetic giants Syngenta and Monsanto in the face of a growing “bee apocalypse” that the Kremlin warns “will most certainly” lead to world war.

This is a world war that is past due! This is food terrorism and too many governments and companies are part of it.

This is so true and presented with such honesty. Wish this young man had of realized that those that stood with him to right wrong ideas would also stand with him to right the wrong done to him had he let them know what he was up against. Most of us didn't even know the very young man's name behind the changes we supported much less that he was in need of our support and help. I'm very proud to have answered his call to pay attention and voice concerns about things that matter to many of us even though I didn't realize who was organizing things to get us to stand up for what I valued. IRS Scandal: Why Should Tea Party Groups Have Any Tax Exemptions? | Nomadic Politics

IRS Scandal: Why Should Tea Party Groups Have Any Tax Exemptions? | Nomadic Politics | GOP & AUSTERITY SUPPORTERS VS THE PROGRESSION Of The REST OF US | Scoop.it
Independent political organizations, like Tea Party groups, are perfectly free to campaign however they like. They should be considered charitable organizations promoting the social welfare.
Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

Here is a Great Blog from Nomadic Politics about why theIRSwas investigating Tea Party and GOP groups. From what I've read some left leaning groups were looked closely over as well. There are great links in support of the position of this blog writer.

One difference between left leaning and right leaning groups I've noticed is that the issues the right leaning groups seem to focus on are mainly political and anti-government in general while oddly enough endorsing people for the government that say they will use their power to take their own power away....or someone in the government’s power away. Normally the top people keep their power and it usually turns out to be the power of regulators, public services or lower level workers like teacher’s power they really want to limit rather than some “one” that has the power to shape real legislation that affects people all over the world.

Right leaning groups have three main social issues: Preventing abortion and promoting birth and right to be born. I wouldn't go so far as to say “life” since once those little ones get here the right seems to feel they need to arrive with boot strings, the right American blood line and not require healthcare or old age care., the right also make preventing gayness a main issue. Oh yes, there is a 4th  social welfare issue for the right which is making sure no one gets someone else's money just because they need it.

The left leaning groups seem to be more about issues that are only political if they have to be like healthy water, feeding people, caring for people who aren't caring or can't care for themselves, health, air, water, plants, freedom of the press to express views of everyone including the right side are social concerns of the left side.,, The left strongly is encouraging power and input of the masses to shape the future direction of the world (both left and right do this and that is the one great thing they have in common because together they are waking folks up and getting them involved).

Left groups put out info to encourage freedom to acquire knowledge as another important issue on the left, fair salaries, labor laws, and safe working conditions are other critical, social welfare issues for the left minded groups. Operating ethical and moral industry around the world is also a major issue for the left, along with rights of all subgroups and all various religions that do not hurt people (don't serve poison cool-aid), to live without fear of practicing their chosen religion. Many left groups also promote the interest of same sex couples.

Not all people on either side support all the issues of their dominate leanings., To me the left issues are more mass population invested,& seem to deal more with social welfare concerns with less involvement from big money like Kraft,, ATT, Comcast ,Koch’s Inc, McDonalds, and Wal-Mart, Dow,, Bayer and Monsanto. The right seems to attract the mega rich to push issues that mean they are more likely to gain more riches often at the cost of the population at large. This makes it hard for me to accept them as social welfare and all too often they look more like corporate welfare for tax exemptions and an even bigger power grab.

West, Texas Explosion: The Price of Poor Regulation and Rick Perry's Budget Cuts? | Nomadic Politics

West, Texas Explosion: The Price of Poor Regulation and Rick Perry's Budget Cuts? | Nomadic Politics | GOP & AUSTERITY SUPPORTERS VS THE PROGRESSION Of The REST OF US | Scoop.it
Did Texas Governor Rick Perry's budget cuts and his idea of limited regulations play a factor in the West, Texas fertilizer explosion?
Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

There are many pushing for less regulation. This and the recent garment fire in India and the even more recent mine collaspe show that few companies really police critical issues well. It is all too easy to kick the can down the road thinking "someone" will deal with it later or maybe nothing will happen anyway.

Excerpt:

The plant had already been investigated by The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for its failure to obtain an air quality permit as a fertilizer mixing and storage facility. The company had, in fact, earlier been fined by the Environmental Protection Agency for failing to have a risk management plan that met federal standards. That $2,300 penalty was issued on August 14, 2006, according to EPA records.

Billionaires Unchained: The New Pay-As-You-Go Landscape of American “Democracy” | GOP & AUSTERITY SUPPORTERS VS THE PROGRESSION Of The REST OF US | Scoop.it

by Andy Kroll (Common Dreams)

Billionaires with an axe to grind, now is your time. Not since the days before a bumbling crew of would-be break-in artists set into motion the fabled Watergate scandal, leading to the first far-reaching restrictions on money in American politics, have you been so free to meddle. There is no limit to the amount of money you can give to elect your friends and allies to political office, to defeat those with whom you disagree, to shape or stunt or kill policy, and above all to influence the tone and content of political discussion in this country.

Today, politics is a rich man's game. Look no further than the 2012 elections and that season's biggest donor, 79-year-old casino mogul Sheldon Adelson. He and his wife, Miriam, shocked the political class by first giving $16.5 million in an effort to make Newt Gingrich the Republican presidential nominee. Once Gingrich exited the race, the Adelsons invested more than $30 million in electing Mitt Romney. They donated millions more to support GOP candidates running for the House and Senate, to block a pro-union measure in Michigan, and to bankroll the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other conservative stalwarts (which waged their own campaigns mostly to help Republican candidates for Congress). All told, the Adelsons donated $94 million during the 2012 cycle -- nearly four times the previous record set by liberal financier George Soros. And that's only the money we know about. When you add in so-called dark money, one estimate puts their total giving at closer to $150 million.  MORE

Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

The citizens can not fail to take full notice of legislation and exactly who is shaping the legislation, plus how and under what motivation is it being shaped.  Then those same citizens must participate in a more major role than just showing up to vote on preselected horses or otherwise the citizens become just pawns on someone else's game board.

New U.S. Chamber attacks on corporate political spending disclosure are a good sign « CitizenVox

How can you tell that momentum is building for change?

Well, one good sign is that the opposition starts getting nervous about your progress.

That’s why we took it as a positive sign that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce recently stepped up attacks on shareholders who attempt to make companies disclose political spending.

Earlier this month, I attended an almost comical presentation at the U.S. Chamber headquarters where speakers spent most of a four hour event attacking political spending disclosure resolutions as being bad for business.

Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

This is a good group to follow on your Facebook page. I think they were also the group that hosted 3rd party debates last year.

Paul Ryan ignored the evidence, and wove a web of lies in an attempt to insinuate that President Obama was involved in the IRS scandal.
Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

Obama doesn't always do what I want either but I know Mitt would have done the same or worse faster since he said as much. So allow me to redirect my concerns and detract you from the distractors:

Protect our natural food supply and wildlife from unproven Genetic Modifications and chemicals that can be harmful. They now call Obama Monsanto’s man because of who he has appointed to watch over these things in the FDA and USDA.

Do everything we can to inspire people to learn then enable them in every way to do that.

Encourage everyone to remember the best parts of their spiritual upbringing and act on that. They will find that it is contagious that way or at least respected.

Stop the overreaching “in the name of protecting us and the country” of all the cyber security and copyright issues by walking all over our 1st and 4th amendment rights and due process Rule of Law. All this is being done “in the name of protecting us and the country” and is something else we do not need to take our eyes off of.

The fight to control the power, data and profits of the Internet by governments and industries alike is also a threat to our future. They may soon call Obama Big Media, Cable and ISP’s man as well because of his appointment of Wheeler to the FCC. Even though both parties have to support these people to make this happen.

Ask Your Senators to Support Public Seed in the Farm Bill | Seed Broadcast

Ask Your Senators to Support Public Seed in the Farm Bill | Seed Broadcast | GOP & AUSTERITY SUPPORTERS VS THE PROGRESSION Of The REST OF US | Scoop.it

Senator Jon Tester is introducing a Farm Bill amendment next week that aims to reinvigorate classical plant breeding and public cultivar development.

Call your senators today and ask them to support Senator Tester’s Farm Bill amendment to improve seed choices for American farmers and strengthen U.S. agriculture.

What this means: Establishing classical plant breeding (or “conventional,” field-based selection) as a priority for public research is critical to the competitiveness and resiliency of U.S. agriculture. Farmers constantly face changing climate, insect, weed, and disease pressures that vary by region, and they lament reduced options in regionally appropriate seed cultivars held in the public domain.

Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

This is happening this week in DC or it may have already moved faster than those making the organic seed alliance thought. Together, united, we can and do make a difference.

Call your senators and give your own message or use this one if you want:

Find your senators here or call the Senate switchboard and they’ll connect you: (202) 224-3121.

The message is this: “As the Senate debates the 2013 Farm Bill, I urge you to support the amendment sponsored by Senator Tester that aims to reinvigorate classical plant breeding to ensure farmers have the seed they need to be successful. Developing regionally appropriate seed varieties held in the public domain is paramount to the success of U.S. agriculture.”

Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

There are far still too many leaders right now the see this as an answer. HINT: They are not the innovators or visionaries of how to create a better world and reshape the current one that obviously needs to be adjusted to fit the changes in work force, technology, family and nature around us. They have an idea we need to hunker down till things “get back to normal”. The major flaw in their “let’s kick the can down the road, tighten our belts, and pass out boot strings” till then is the problem they refuse to see.  The plan and economy does not work for everyone and soon to be most everyone in the world. Getting it back won’t do the trick.

We could also call these people reactionary. Reactionaries use a panic reaction like a wild animal. Self-preservation is critical in that mind set. You don't want to tangle with a scared raccoon. That coon only has his own survival in mind at that moment and any creature that meets that scared raccoon or politician better realize their own life and safety is optional to the scared raccoon and run and return only to set a trap or with a gun. Fortunately our politicians might stop reacting and start thinking so that maybe we do not have to resort to traps and guns.

The article gives good insight as to the moral and human cost of austerity. Please read it. Then have your eyes out for the visionaries and promote them. We truly need new designs for a better future. The same answers no longer work for our new questions.

Poison pill? Obama Can’t Fix Congress’ Monsanto Giveaway with an Executive Order - Democratic Underground

Poison pill? Obama Can’t Fix Congress’ Monsanto Giveaway with an Executive Order - Democratic Underground | GOP & AUSTERITY SUPPORTERS VS THE PROGRESSION Of The REST OF US | Scoop.it

The problem is that the President does not have line item veto power; it’s all or nothing. This is called a poison pill. As part of the short term spending bill, President Obama had to sign the resolution in order to prevent the federal government from shutting down today, March 27, when the current funding was set to expire. He doesn’t get to cherry pick what parts he signs into law. He either lets the goverment shut down or he signs the poison pill.

The Monsanto Protection Act is outrageous to anyone who pays attention to our current food safety issues. It essentially temporary deregulates genetically modified organisms (GMOs). It grants the U.S. Department of Agriculture the authority to override a judicial ruling stopping the planting of a genetically modified crop, and thus grants temporary permits for farmers to plant and grow genetically modified crops.

Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

TODAY IS THE MARCH AGAINST MONSANTO ON MAT 25th! This can be the START of the march! You may not usually do or even go to marches but how about joining in to spread the word and awareness by car painted signs like we do and see for wedding and celebrations?

There is NO risk of arrest, no getting run out of places for passing out pamphlets, hundreds or more people will see your message and millions if lots of us do this today or maybe even all week. It will be like supporting our local ball team. Occupy Food!

Write on your car this sunny day to tell Monsanto they suck and today the Senate that voted overwhelmingly to protect Monsanto's campaign money and power yesterday does too! Just do not use vulgar words. Skull and bones would be appropriate though.

Here is the type of Non-Profit groups that define their organization as a non-profit "social welfare" tax-deductible group the IRS was checking out. Who's welfare do you think this bunch looks after? Do any of us remember voting for the corporations behind this to wine and dine our elected officials tax-free?

Would some of you all like to take them on a paid holiday to sale your business interest as a non-profit? Someone in DC should have been fired for not checking out what made these corporate non-profit lobbyists tax-free.

And we should be checking out why ALEX and others are doing things we elected certain officials to do with the input “we” gave them as our LOCALLY elected (not multi-national elected) representatives that actually work for ALEC.

If our policy makers are sub-contracting their job to so called Non-Profits we didn't elect to represent us and we our not represented in their ALEC organizations directly than it is time to fire those people we voted for that are hiring others to do their job. These groups lobby and fund campaigns of their selected officials to look after their own for-profit interest....not social welfare which is the type of non-profit they claim to be and the only type that is tax-free that I'm aware of.

Europe’s economic turmoil is dragging the world economy down. Despite this destructive display of unnecessary masochism, many Americans still demand the sequester be allowed to continue slashing public spending.
Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

Well for starters there is this:

Excerpt:

"So much for the economics of austerity. That is only half the story, however. Austerity is a moral issue, too. It inflicts enormous misery upon hundreds of millions. To an American living under a relatively generous economic regime that is providing annual growth at 2.5 percent, the scale of unemployment in Europe is alarming.

We think 7.5 percent is too high. In Greece, it has reached 27 percent and youth unemployment (age 15 to 24) is at an appalling 64 percent. Much the same is happening in Spain, with 27.2 percent unemployed and youth unemployment hitting 57 percent. Italy’s 11 percent unemployed figure disguises the fact that more than that number have given up looking for jobs ‑ so the real jobless tally is more than 20 percent."

Then there is even far more before austerity hammers the full blow. [ click the title for more].

A GIFT FROM PRESIDENT OBAMA TO THE GOP By Reid Gelhaar The Republican Party has just been served a huge gift by the Obama Administration.
Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

Two more things for the GOP to beat the drums and their mouth about for the 3 years. Great! The fact is Obama can't move fast enough on this spying stuff to keep the GOP and many other well funded and fearful democrats happy. All super syp on everyone and anyone anyhow ideas have been strongly supported by both party till the public and a handful of officials stand-up and say NO! Both are important matters. The IRS should not run scared it should just make sure it checks out a sovial welfare tax exempt groups on both sides to make sure the status is not being abused....which with Citizens United it does seem to be.

The AP spying should not have happened without following all proper legal proceedures but the temptation from all nations and big industry leaders is to abuse the ability to access communications and information gotten so easily on a much bigger scale. We need to put in place and enforce two regulations; the unfettered affordable open access of the web under net neutralityand the restated, redefined rules and regs that define,,enforce on protect both of these.

The public should not let this be a gift for either side!  We have too many equally important matters to let this or any single issue side track us. The article screams out how willingness of the GOP is to hammer an issue for the sole purpose of political gain and in this case they think they might be able to silence and wipe out the democrats for 25 years if the play their cards right..
