Does Google make your memory weaker? A recent series of studies conducted by Columbia University's Department of Psychology investigated the effects that Internet search engines, such as Google, have on human memory retention.
Teresa Diaz's insight:

So basically, since the millenial brain is being rewired to access and use information differently, how does this impact our traditional approaches and strategies for teaching search, evaluation, and selection?

More importantly--how to we do our own mindshift instructionally to address this mindshift among our students?

The Christian Science Monitor is an international news organization that delivers thoughtful, global coverage via its website, weekly magazine, daily news briefing, and email newsletters.
Teresa Diaz's insight:

Fun way to incorporate logo creation with research...students could create a Google Doodle that represents their concept/issue, OR an aspect of their research that is obscure, curious, etc...or create a nonfiction narrative of their research findings by animating the Google Doodle somehow via Web 2.0 tool or other apps/software...just a few thoughts.

10 Great Tools to Integrate with your Google Docs ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

10 Great Tools to Integrate with your Google Docs ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Google Tools for LMS | Scoop.it

Since Google officially changed Google Docs name to Google Drive and a number of updates have been introduced to improve its overall performance. One very recent update is an increase of cloud storage capacity to 15GB usable across Gmail, Drive, and Google Plus. It is quite obvious that Google is trying to outsmart its immediate competitor Dropbox and I think Google is successful in its strategy so far.

To make Google Drive stand out from the crowd, Google opened it to apps developers  and allowed users to select from a wide variety of web apps to integrate into their Google Drive accounts. With the integration of these apps, users can now handle their files and documents ways not affordable by any other cloud storage tool out there.

I have curated for you some interesting apps that are integrated into Google Drive and which you can install right from your Google Drive interface.
