How To Manage Your Social Media Presence

Whether you are seeking a new Job Opportunity on LinkedIn or you are a small business owner or a Social SEO Consultant wanting to showcase your service offerings, its as easy as ever for a prospective client to socially vet you in a matter of minutes.

Follow this blueprint to better manage your social media presence so your prospective clients will find your social link wheel appealing, compelling and more likely to engage you via one of your top social media channels.

Its best to do these search queries signed into Google and Bing accounts and in the incognito mode so you can minimize the personalization results to determine which of your social media channels are your most influential social channels.

Neil Ferree's insight:

If you want to better Manage Your Social Media Presence the first thing you want to do is find out what your prospective customer is gong to see when they Google your personal brand (your name) and your business brand (your company name) and then follow this social media blueprint to optimize your social link wheel.

When you do this, you will find that the leads your social content generates will convert faster than if you didn't use this process.

5 Characteristics Of High Converting Headlines

5 Characteristics Of High Converting Headlines | Google Plus and Social SEO | Scoop.it

The information you’re about to read is very powerful, but I need to offer two disclaimers.

  • All these techniques don’t work all the time in every situation. Nonetheless, the data does point to these characteristics as being effective most of the time.
  • Different techniques work better for different audiences. Studies may say one thing, but your mileage may vary. You know your audience best.
Neil Ferree's insight:

The better your headline, the better your marketing.

Use these five characteristics to improve your conversion rates. Here’s what works:

  • Use numbers (odd numbers work best)
  • Use 5-9 words if people are familiar 16-18 if they’re not
  • Use negative words, or at least few positive superlatives
  • Use a two-part model
  • Be very, very clear

I chose to Scoop this article from Neil Patel since he's one of the most respected and successful online marketers I know.

The interesting thing was how the headline Neil used in this piece didn't score well when I tested it via AMI headline analyzer?

I made a minor tweak to get a score of 62% but left the original headline in tact. I only edited the image.

My name is Neil Ferree and my site doesn't command nearly the visitor count as Neil Patel does but that doesn't mean I'm not a fan of targeting long tails in my SEO/SEM campaigns.

Why Content Goes Viral: What Analyzing 100 Million Articles Taught Us

Why Content Goes Viral: What Analyzing 100 Million Articles Taught Us | Google Plus and Social SEO | Scoop.it
A few weeks ago someone sent me a link to the BuzzSumo website. It is a gold mine of data regarding what content is the most shared across any topic. Cha-Ching.
Neil Ferree's insight:

We came up with this set of questions, hoping to challenge popular assumptions on how to make your content go viral:

What types of emotions did the most popular articles invoke?

What type of posts typically receive a lot of shares? (lists? infographics?)

Did readers love to share short form or long form content? What’s the ideal length?

Does trust play a major role on whether someone will share an article?

What’s the effect of having just one image in a post vs no images?

What’s the effect of having just one influencer sharing your article?

How do we make people share our post days and even weeks after it’s been published?

What’s the best day of the week to publish an article?

How to Increase Your Social Media Presence

How to Increase Your Social Media Presence | Google Plus and Social SEO | Scoop.it

There are many ways that social analytics can influence a content-driven business’ editorial process. First and most obvious is by applying that data to decide what topics to cover and when to publish them for your editorial calendar.

By understanding which articles, videos or blog posts are being clicked, copied and shared, publishers can make better decisions about what topics to focus on, and get the most ROI from their editorial teams.

Using sharing tools, a news site recently discovered that while crime-related stories tended to be the most shared content category, shared sports-related content actually drove the largest volume of new users to the site.

These are some of the more effective methods using social analytics when trying to better manage your social media presence.

Social Media Content Management
Neil Ferree's insight:

One of things I've learned about curating content is to imitate those who are Pros and mirror their content curation techniques. Top of mind people include @ janlgordonand @Martin (Marty) Smith

This article covers some of the basics in content curation.

1) Knowing your audience and what they’re interested in is imperative.

2) Curating content from the same popular sources everyone else is, is not effective.

3) Curating content that is suggested from sites based on what others are already sharing is not effective. (see #2)

4) Curating unique, recent and relevant content that is targeted toward your audience’s interest, will initiate engagement by your audience.

5) Retweeting on Twitter and Sharing posts on Facebook is not curating with a strategy, it’s executing someone else’s strategy. You need to RT and share other people’s posts, but not as your entire posting strategy.

6) Hashtagging curated posts with a strategy will grow your target audience if you do it properly.

7) Important reasons you must curate quality content posts:

Provide relevant, selfless value to your community
Build thought leadership on topics important to your strategy

** To stay top of mind with your audience
** To spark conversations
** To earn the right to share and promote your stuff

8) Developing a specific curation strategy is an important part of an overall social media strategy.

9) People are not logged in watching their streams all day, every day. Having enough relevant posts all day long is important.

10) Being consistent with your curation posting makes a huge difference in your results.

11) Proper content curation sparks conversations with your audience and that leads to relationships and ROI.

12) When a curated post receives a lot shares, likes and engagement, it is resonating with your audience. Schedule it several more times over the next week to maximize the effectiveness of that single post.

13) There is no choice between quantity and quality with content curation. It’s always BOTH.

14) Curated social media posts that often get the most shares and engagement are the ones that are by relatively unknown sources!
