What's New in Instagram Advertising | How Can You Benefit From These Best Practices?

What's New in Instagram Advertising | How Can You Benefit From These Best Practices? | All-in-One Social Media News | Scoop.it
Instagram recently signed a large deal with Omnicom Media to engage in more advertising. Here are some of our predictions for the future of Instagram ads.

Small business owners, entrepreneurs, and network marketers can benefit from professional ad agencies and national brands using Instagram to build brand awareness.

Mike Macey's insight:

It is important to read how professionals use Instagram for advertising. Instagram like Facebook for Business is not for "SPAM." Consider the following "excerpt and read the entire article" to become more familiar with Best Practices and protecting your online reputation and the intefrity of your personal or business brand:

"It’s important to note that all of the selected brands already had an established presence on Instagram. That’s a good prerequisite to have before venturing into advertising on the platform; it ensures the company is able to create the high-quality, engaging content that gains likes and comments organically. Besides, with 65% of the most valuable brands worldwide active on Instagram, the platform is recognized as an arena for corporate storytelling to flourish."

NOTE: "high-quality, engaging content that gains likes and comments organically" and "storytelling to flourish." If using Instagram, how would you change branding yourself now?

Companies expect students to have internships but aren’t hiring interns

A new study by Millennial Branding, of 225 employers using Experience Inc.’s data pool of over 100,000 US companies, uncovers the student employment gap, skill requirements, and sources of hire for the class of 2012. 91% of employers think that students should have between one and two internships before they graduate, yet 50% haven’t hired any interns in the past six months.

Students that have the required internships haven’t received job offers from companies since 79% of employers have hired 30% or fewer interns into full-time positions. Furthermore, 87% of companies think that internships should last at least three months for students to gain enough experience when most internships last around two months long. This employment gap is one of the reasons why half of all recent grads are jobless or underemployed as reported by The Associated Press.

Work Is Work: Why Free Internships Are Immoral

Work Is Work: Why Free Internships Are Immoral | All-in-One Social Media News | Scoop.it
The last word on students working for free...

This summer, millions of students -- some graduating, some between school years -- will spend the summer working. Some will work at restaurants and on retail floors, where working is called "working." Some will work at think tanks and non-profit organizations, where working is called "interning." Estimates put the number of unpaid interns every year between 500,000 and one million. So, in a country where working for free is mostly illegal, a student population somewhere between the size of Tucson and Dallas will be working for free, in plain view.
