This gave me reasons I have not looked at which are good reasons to enroll in a community college.

Reese Fluharty's curator insight, December 5, 2013 11:08 AM

This article brings up many valid points on why community college is a good alternative to going to a university. I found that the average debt for graduating seniors surprisingly high at $23,000, for going to a university. Rather than being in debt for years out of college, I rather earn a degree from a Community College and save a bunch of money. Even more surprising is that fact that 13% of young adults are unemployed. I would not like to graduate college with a huge debt and end up unemployed, not being able to pay off my debt. I agree with this article in that school counselors should steer students toward a community college path. With the low cost, great location, wide enrollment, and the high pay off, I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to begin college at a community college. I believe that starting off my college career at a community college and then transferring over to a four year college will be a great money saving alternative to going to a four year university right out of high school.

i liked this article because it really gave a nice inside look at community college. i think it shows that you can get through the world in a community colege and you dont have to go to a university but at the same time not going to college is a bad choice, but community college is an affordable easy solution to that.
