Runequest Foes: 1200 Monsters for Runequest INCLUDES: Types — all intelligent monsters from RuneQuest are described, many with special.
A small business devoted exclusively to licensed Glorantha miniatures and wargaming.
For some reason I am inspired by Russian fantasy for all things Umathelan. I have found many illustrations and paintings on line. I will give all the links on the blog.
Pavis: Gateway to Adventure is ALMOST ready! Sorry for all the delays, but Rick and I want to make sure this book is as perfect as we can get it. So to whet your appetite for more good news later this week, here’s a few low-resolution previews of pages of the Pavis book:
MRQII is dead and Mongoose has lost the licence, but the Italian version of MRQII by Asterion Press (with way better quality and nicer art, especially for the Monster Coliseum) is still alive... Such are the intricacies of game licences.
"Father, why do old people have grey hair?" "Son, it has to do with death. We know people go grey when they are approaching death. The first person to approach death and go grey was Orlanth.
If you are not interested in Glorantha or in the ways that long-established gaming worlds grow over time, this post may not be for you. The main thing that bugged me about RQ3 (way back in 1981!) was its introduction of the sorcerers and knights of the West.
We're delighted to announce that Design Mechanism, Issaries and Mongoose Publishing have reached an agreement that allows us to continue making available RuneQuest and Glorantha titles (originally published by Mongoose) through DrivethruRPG and its affiliated sites. Under the RuneQuest Archives you'll be able to buy a special selection of the very best of the old Mongoose RQ and Glorantha titles at only $1.00 per book.
The Design Mechanism will be launching a free PDF magazine available from their web-site. The magazine will focus on RuneQuest 6th ed. and other games based on the Basic Role-Playing system. Issue No.1 should be available at the end of January and is rumoured to provide a few little snippets from the upcoming RuneQuest 6 rule book!
After a short thirty year hiatus, the Glorantha magazine Wyrms Footnotes returns with issue 15 this February/March! With articles by Greg Stafford! Sandy Petersen! Jeff Richard! Rick Meints! And much much more!
We are happy to announce that after a two-month hiccup (sorry about that – but the book proved even mightier than expected!), Pavis is back on track and will be available for sale at the end of this month! What’s in this collection of Gloranthan Gold, you might ask? Well here’s a short list:
“Arrrgh my leetle brain can not handle it” is what some of you will probably be thinking when you contemplate the number of RQ like systems that are available now or in the near future. This time next year there will be at least :

I was notified last night that some of the classic Runequest Glorantha products were hitting the virtual shelves at RPGNow. Pavis and Big Rubble are one set and I grabbed this right away. I have the old Chaosium boxed sets for these packed away, and they are a big reason that Runequest was my other fantasy RPG when I was in college (AD&D was number 1). These were some of the best sandbox styled products of all time. And now I have them in PDF... From quick look these are either amazing scans or re typeset from the originals.
Now leaning towards ca.950ST. The Umathelan Coalition has driven off the Middle Sea Empire but hasn't experienced the utter destruction it will undergo in the 11th century yet. Rumours of the Closing are reaching Umathela. It's going to be several terrifying years of incoming doom for coastal people who rely on the sea, not helped by the dragonship attacks.
The Olodo are another people that were brought to Umathela, before the Umathings. My understanding is that they were Old Wayers who lost some civil war on Jrustela. They were transported to Pamaltela by the Waertagi.
Continuing his exploration of Kralorela, David Millians tells us of the Baboons of Kralorela; We present Greg Stafford's Lives of Sedenya, part 3 (the final chapter will be in Issue 12). Roderick Robertson gives us three articles on the Oslir and those that live and work on him/her; Andrew Larsen describes some of the lesser-known flora, fauna and spirits of Prax, and we have not one, but two articles on Votankiland: a clan generator from Keith Nellist, and what Oliver Bernuetz promises will be the first in a series of adventures Taming Votankiland (any contradiction between the two articles is up to you to decide!)
Oslira was content. She’d spent an energetic morning with her husband Lodril and now wanted nothing more than to be left alone . She was just drifting off when the first petitioner arrived. “Oh great Oslira hear my prayers.
2012 has kicked off with several events worthy of the Mayan calendar. First, I’ve finished the opening scenario to Harreksaga AND ‘The Trees That Ate Yanchi’. So that’s progress.
Greetings Glorantha-philes! Today’s posting is a rare treat – a fragment of the Xeotam Dialogues, that proved so populars amongst the Western sorcerers in the later Third Age. The date of the original Dialogues are believed to be circa 1480, although this particular copy is dated from 1618. The Dialogues are between the master wizard Xeotam and his young Ralian apprentice Aanor. Three cities boast of being the site of the original Dialogues, as Xeotam resided in (or near) those cities in the late 15th century: Azilos, Dangk, and Arnlor. High Watcher Theoblanc is known to own a collection of these Dialogues (which first became popular in his youth).
Despite all the gloomy articles and interviews I've been reading about the state of the rpg industry, I am of the opinion that our hobby hasn't been in a better shape for decades. But then industry ≠ hobby. Oh, well.
We've now established our presence on DrivethruRPG and its affiliated websites. And, to launch things, we have made a special arrangement with Mongoose Publishing to release selected RQ and Glorantha titles from their previous iteration of the game. This ensures that some of the fantastic work done for both the previous RQ line and Glorantha's Second Age remains available.
