The Asian Development Bank (ADB) loan for cambodia irrigation system| glObserver Global Economics

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a 60-million-U.S.-dollar loan to increase agricultural production by rehabilitating, modernizing and climate- proofing irrigation systems in Cambodia's two provinces, its statement said on Tuesday.

The project will boost the efficiency and climate resilience of irrigation systems in central Kampong Thom province and northwestern Battambang province.

By 2021, the total cultivated area for both the dry and wet seasons in the two provinces will have additional than doubled to 29,500 hectares from 13,500 hectares in 2015, and three irrigation systems will have completed 100 % irrigation efficiency, the statement said.

The Indonesian government on Tuesday unveiled a second batch of stimulus packages to lure investors, prop up weakening rupiah and accelerate GDP increase in the country, an official said here.

The minister said that the exporters keeping their U.S. dollars at local banks will have their gain tax on interest reduced to 7. 5 % from 20 % for one month deposit.

For one year deposit, the tax will be deleted to 0 %, he said.

The tax on revenue converted into rupiah would be exempted to 0 % from 20 % for time deposit of six months, Brodjonegoro said.

Higher education is provided by institutions of various types including general and technical universities, specialized institutions, professional universities, military institutions, medical schools and colleges, independent colleges, and adult higher education institutions of various types. Entry to university depends primarily on how well the students perform in the entrance examinations.

In China, primary school education is compulsory and it lasts 6 years. Children start schools at age six (seven in some areas). The language of instruction is Mandarin Chinese with the exception of the primary schools that mainly admit ethnic minority students. A typical school year is comprised of two semesters and runs from the month of September to July.
