Syrian Opposition Group to Protest Kurdish Exclusion From Peace Talks

Syrian Opposition Group to Protest Kurdish Exclusion From Peace Talks | Global politics | Scoop.it
With Syrian peace talks set to begin Friday, Western parties have refused to let Kurdish groups take part. Qadri Jamil of the Popular Front for Change and Liberation tells Sputnik that members of the Syrian opposition intend to take the matter to the UN Special Envoy to argue for Kurdish inclusion.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

The West is ignominious. They accept the participation of Saudi-funded terrorists and deny the Kurds! Just because they don't want to upset Erdogan! Erdogan, who is flooding Europe with dubious refugees, and demanding billions of euros, a quickening accession to the EU (that most don't want), and a lot more. Blackmail is a soft word, he has declared war on Europe, only the army he is sending is without weapons, apparently. He has to be stopped, and the best way to start with is the inclusion of the Kurds, whether he likes them or not. Hopefully the Russians will assert their authority, why should they give in to Erdogan?

20+ New Military Installations Built in Crimea in 2015

20+ New Military Installations Built in Crimea in 2015 | Global politics | Scoop.it
Enrique Ferro's insight:
Most military installations inherited from the former authorities of the Peninsula did not meet even the most minimum of requirements that apply to residential or household premises, parking lots and storage facilities.

Rebuilding it all would have cost a lot of money, so it was easier to build the military camps again with the use of new technologies.

Vámonos! An unprecedented Latino voter drive could tip the scales in Iowa

Vámonos! An unprecedented Latino voter drive could tip the scales in Iowa | Global politics | Scoop.it
And Bernie Sanders may be the beneficiary.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Though Clinton is the preferred candidate among Latino voters—a national poll from NBC this month showed her leading 54 percent to Sanders' 33 percent—Henry's effort may ultimately result in more voters for Sanders than Clinton. That's because Iowa's Latino population is overwhelmingly young. And in Iowa, Sanders is massively overperforming among younger voters. Of the 50,000 Latino voters that LULAC identified, Henry says 60 percent are under 35 years old. And Henry's observation is that younger Latinos in Iowa are drawn to Sanders' economic message while older Latinos, who have been familiar with Clinton for decades, remain loyal to her.
