Enrique Ferro's insight:

The Ukrainian constitution has been violated by the coup self-appointed government, and international law is in tatters after all the US full-dominance interventions. Speaking of the present government in Kiev as legitimate is the top of cynicism.

Ukraine: A war on more than one front

Ukraine: A war on more than one front | Global politics | Scoop.it
Well, my friends, another one of my hellish trips to my beloved Ukraine is over, and it’s time to draw breath and sum it up. Right after this, I probably won’t go back to this nightmare of a topic for a very long while.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

But, for me, some lowlifes (regardless of whether they were local or not), seizing city administration buildings is just as bad and disgusting as a murderer and a bastard harassing officials in front of cameras. The fate of the country I love with all my heart will probably be determined by the country itself. There probably will be more turbulence, and the people will have to rise up again and again to fight against abuse of power. I think many people will agree that the new government has minimum credibility, a fact they have been proving since they came to power. But the Ukrainian people have to do it on their own.

Quarrel over Ukraine to be painful for West heavily dependent on Russian gas - expert

Quarrel over Ukraine to be painful for West heavily dependent on Russian gas - expert | Global politics | Scoop.it
Most of the western media tend to blame Russia for the current situation in Ukraine, Peter Hitchens , a columnist with the Mail on Sunday Newspaper, said speaking with the Voice of Russia about
Enrique Ferro's insight:

And the other thing, of course, is that so much of the Western Europe is heavily dependent on Russia for gas, that I think particularly Germany is not going to be anxious to have a long-standing quarrel with Russia, because it is a danger to gas supply and to quite an important economic relationship.

About Abby Martin, Liz Wahl and media wars

About Abby Martin, Liz Wahl and media wars | Global politics | Scoop.it
Today RT America anchor Liz Wahl resigned on air, claiming she disagrees with the channel’s editorial stance. And here’s what I have to say about it.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Never before have I seen RT and its journalists bullied like this. See for yourselves what they did to poor Abby. First, she openly voiced disagreement with Russia’s stance on air – and was virtually made an American hero. But then Abby reminded everyone how much she disagrees with America’s stance as well, adding she takes pride in working at RT, where she is free to express her views. Less than an hour passed before Abby had her name dragged through something I have difficulty finding a decent name for this late at night.

US imposes visa restrictions on Russians, Crimeans who ‘threaten Ukraine security’

US imposes visa restrictions on Russians, Crimeans who ‘threaten Ukraine security’ | Global politics | Scoop.it
The US is imposing visa restrictions on Russian and Crimean officials and private citizens who they accuse of “threatening Ukraine’s sovereignty and integrity,” the White House says.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Under the pretext of “deterring Russian aggression” in Ukraine, the Pentagon announced its plans to send several additional fighter jets for NATO air patrols over the Baltic states and, also expand aviation training in Poland.

Meanwhile, in an attempt to heap further pressure on Moscow, NATO announced on Wednesday a full review of its cooperation with Russia and said that it would suspend planning for a joint mission linked to the Syrian chemical weapons. Moscow slammed the move as an application of “Cold War” stereotypes and double standards.

The Crimean authorities have denounced the self-proclaimed government in Kiev and declared that all Ukrainian law enforcement and military deployed in the peninsula must take orders from them. The Crimea authorities have asked Russia to provide assistance to ensure peace and order in the region.

Georgian Background to the Western “Invasion” Hysteria | New Eastern Outlook | Global politics | Scoop.it
Enrique Ferro's insight:

With tensions building in Ukraine, after Western-backed Neo-Nazis, ultra-nationalists, and other assorted bigots, hooligans, and militants overran the elected government in Kiev, the “Russian invasion of Georgia” narrative has been reanimated, admissions of its inaccuracy quickly forgotten, and is being used as an analogy to peddle the newly christened “Russian invasion of Ukraine” narrative.

'US using their Africa and Middle East strategy in Ukraine' | Global politics | Scoop.it
The US establishes strategic networks around globe, some linked to humanitarian organizations, and some to fascist organizations and individuals who will do their dirty work, Scott Rickard, former intelligence officer for the NSA, told RT.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Foreign policy expert, Nebojsa Malic, believes that the West is sticking to its usual strategy: an “absolute denial of reality when it suits their aims.”

“Unfortunately, neither the Europeans nor the Americans generally allow facts to get in the way of a good story and what Mr Kerry said, the fairy tale about peaceful protesters being murdered by the government, that’s their fairy tale and they are sticking to it,” Malic told RT.
