‘UK foreign policy to blame for sense of hatred, alienation of young Muslims’

‘UK foreign policy to blame for sense of hatred, alienation of young Muslims’ | Global politics | Scoop.it
The main threat to UK home security is presented by young alienated Muslims who are under constant surveillance and harassment by the government, but not those citizens who went to Syria or Iraq and came back, political commentator Chris Bambery told RT.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Yes, precisely, why a charity man should be beheaded? Men who went to the area after reading everyday the MSM demonization of the Syrian republic and who wanted to help its "victims", only to fall a prisoner of the rebels he meant to help and being murdered for being an "infidel"? Are they all mad?

‘US policy - number one driver of terrorism in the Mideast, around the world’ | Global politics | Scoop.it
If the US was serious about re-evaluating not only how it fights terrorism but how terrorism is spread, it would begin by looking in the mirror as its counter-terrorism strategy that foments terrorism abroad, geopolitical analyst Eric Draitser told RT.

Hungary to start South Stream construction in 2015 despite western pressure | Global politics | Scoop.it
Hungary plans to break ground next year on its stretch of the South Stream pipeline to send natural gas from Russia to Europe. It is in defiance of EU and US calls to halt the project over frosty relations with Moscow.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Hungary is courageous, now we are expecting the US conspiracy to topple its government, but guessing how.

Satellite sex-cess: Experiment confirms meteorite may have brought life to Earth

Satellite sex-cess: Experiment confirms meteorite may have brought life to Earth | Global politics | Scoop.it
Russian scientists experimentally confirmed a possibility that life might have been brought to Earth from space, traveling 'on board' a meteorite. Using a satellite, scientists proved bacteria can survive landing through our planet's dense atmosphere.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

It is likely, but another explanation may be that such bacteries may exist also outside, i.e., they would rise on earth, but they may rise elsewhere too, given the proper conditions. And yes, travel through space. They could also be exported from earth. Perhaps life is all around, even if only at its bacterian form...

London student protests turn violent, arrests made (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

London student protests turn violent, arrests made (PHOTOS, VIDEO) | Global politics | Scoop.it
Police and protesters have clashed during the UK’s largest student demonstration for four years. It is not yet clear how many arrests have been made.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

College education has become a privilege for the rich, as the fees tripled, from £3000 to £9000. The large majority of students may continue their tuition only by credit, highly profitable for the bankers, of course, but a chain in the necks of the students for many years later, while they have to continue paying the loans and the service of the debt and spend this way their salaries... Small wonder the demonstrations may turn irate, but it remains to be seen what were the orders of the police. By and by the English democracy is sinking to new depths.

Однако французские власти, очевидно, не намерены прислушаться к критике, так как запретили российским морякам подниматься на борт построенного корабля, который находится в Сен-Назере.

G20 in Australia: Buffoons v the Global South

G20 in Australia: Buffoons v the Global South | Global politics | Scoop.it
The five BRICS member-nations – despite their current problems, the G5 that really matters in the world - did meet before the summit, including the ‘isolated figure’. Economically, this G5 more than matches the old, decrepit G7. Here’s the G20 in Australia in a one-liner: a tiny bunch of Anglo-Saxon political buffoons attempts to drown out the Global South.

The siege of Julian Assange is a farce - an investigation by John Pilger | Global politics | Scoop.it
The siege of Knightsbridge is a farce. For two years, an exaggerated, costly police presence around the Ecuadorean embassy in London has served no purpose other than to flaunt the power of the state.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

The bitter truth, what remains of that Sweden which welcomed the refugees from the CIA-instigated South-American dictatorships? Nothing, it has become a shameful US client state.

Kerry to Lavrov: Ignore Obama’s naming of Russia on top threats list

Kerry to Lavrov: Ignore Obama’s naming of Russia on top threats list | Global politics | Scoop.it
Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says US Secretary of State John Kerry called on him to “pay no mind” to a statement by President Obama, in which Russia was included to a list of top global threats.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Who said Russia is falling apart, PJ? Don't take your wishes for reality, Russia is strong and has all the merits to progress further, which is why the US is trying to strangle it. A futile effort which is only costing a lot especially to the US European client states. Paradoxically it is thanks to it that Russia is resetting its parametres and diversifying its trade, while developping its own production in a national framework.
