Erdogan’s Ottoman Ambitions Lead to Ties With Islamists - French Lawmaker

Erdogan’s Ottoman Ambitions Lead to Ties With Islamists - French Lawmaker | Global politics | Scoop.it
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Ottoman ambitions to spread his influence across parts of Europe and Syria have forced Ankara into dangerous alliances with Islamists, a member of the French legislative defense commission told Sputnik Friday.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
Erdogan is the most lunatic misleader in the world. His ambition to establish a Neo-Otoman empire by annexing Syrian regions will put the world on the brink of war, especially if Hillary R. Clinton becomes the POTUS. Merkel has already lent her support, but she isn't the "commander in chief".

US-Turkey Threaten to Give Terrorists Weapons in Bid to Oust Assad

US-Turkey Threaten to Give Terrorists Weapons in Bid to Oust Assad | Global politics | Scoop.it
The White House took to the editorial pages of the Wall Street Journal to suggest that, if current negotiations bog down, the Pentagon would put anti-aircraft missiles in the hands of Saudi- and Turkey-supported ‘moderate’ rebel groups, including Daesh, al-Nusra and al-Qaeda, to sink the United States in another decade-long regime change quagmire.

Former Fed Advisor Asks "Has The Fed Bankrupted The Nation" | Zero Hedge

Former Fed Advisor Asks "Has The Fed Bankrupted The Nation" | Zero Hedge | Global politics | Scoop.it
In 1977, the total indebtedness of U.S. government, corporate and household borrowers was $323 billion. By 1985, that figure had grown to $7 trillion. Volcker left the Fed in August of 1987 after handing the reins over to Alan Greenspan. By year’s end 2015, U.S. indebtedness had swelled to $45.2 trillion. Tack on financials, which few do, and it’s $64.5 trillion and unabashedly growing. We are a nation transformed. What has today’s vast store of debt purchased? Certainly not freedom.

The Story about Democratic Convention Pledged Delegates that Nobody Talks About - NationofChange | Progressive Change Through Positive Action

The Story about Democratic Convention Pledged Delegates that Nobody Talks About - NationofChange | Progressive Change Through Positive Action | Global politics | Scoop.it
Clinton's only ahead of Sanders thanks to 6 Deep South states irrelevant in November.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
The Democratic party is marginalized in the by now uniformly Republican-run Deep South, and black voters are disproportionately its backers — people who understandably view it as critical to keep Republicans from also controlling the federal government. And even among those few black voters who knew of Sanders and of his strong history of Civil Rights Movement activism and of his consistent support for minority issues and for the nation’s poor as a member of Congress, he was deemed a long shot to win in any general election.

Article: Hillary's "I'm Not a Crook" Moment

Article: Hillary's "I'm Not a Crook" Moment | Global politics | Scoop.it
Article: Hillary's 'I'm Not a Crook' Moment - There will be, essentially, two answers to the key question. Either Hillary Clinton ignored the rules of the secrecy game. Or she willfully breached the rules. The undisputed top reason for the existence of the subterranean private server was for Hillary Clinton to keep her emails, well, secret, and thus not subjected to freedom of information laws.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
"Carelessness". A funny joke. Aside of wondering if a negligent US president is good for the world, it not that difficult to understand that it is not carelessness, but corruption. You wouldn't send classified or secret information to your associates through your official channels, so you download it and send it from your own computer, far from the recognizable tracks. Your associates may use your info. And then your Foundation may profit from their generosity. Genial! Except that there is an obscure Romanian hacker who finds it interesting and sells his findings to some media. Of course, the Western MSM, as usually and as part of the Establishment, rushes to quench the fire and puts all the onus on Putin, also as usually. But HRC isn't whitewashed anyways. Wait and see, I would guess that the current POTUS has a grudge against her...

This is an English translation of an article that I wrote for the German magazine, Compact. I was encouraged by the high level of intelligent discourse that Compact brings to its readers. If only the US had more people capable of reaching beyond entertainment to comprehending the forces that affect them, there might be some hope for America.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
Clinton is a corrupt warmonger. She is the most dangerous person on earth now.

Poland is pathetic, like the Baltic states. Their ruling classes only live on Russophobia. They won't change, their hatred is genetic and pathologic, a disease of the mind. The empire takes good advantage of it.

Money Influences Everybody. That Includes Hillary Clinton

Money Influences Everybody. That Includes Hillary Clinton | Global politics | Scoop.it
Democrats have a decision to make: do they think money in politics is a corrupting force that influences the decisions made by elected officials, or not? After years railing against the Citizens United decision, which opened the floodgates to outside spending in elections, some of them appear to have done a complete reversal.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
How quickly they forget. As journalist David Sirota reported earlier this week, in the 2008 Democratic primary campaign, Clinton harshly criticized then senator Obama for accepting donations from oil and gas executives – and even cut a campaign commercial about it. The kicker? It was less money than Clinton has accepted from people working for fossil fuel companies so far this campaign season.

As much as President Clinton and President Obama like to talk about "free trade" deals, the truth is that the working class ends up paying.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
“The Panama Papers just show once again how entirely cynical and meaningless are American presidents’ and corporate boosters’ lavish promises of economic benefits and policy reforms from trade agreements… [I]nvestor protections and official U.S. stamp of approval made it safer to send dirty money to Panama.”

New Report Finds Many Large, Profitable U.S. Corporations Pay No Federal Income Taxes - NationofChange | Progressive Change Through Positive Action

New Report Finds Many Large, Profitable U.S. Corporations Pay No Federal Income Taxes - NationofChange | Progressive Change Through Positive Action | Global politics | Scoop.it
The GAO released a study requested by Bernie Sanders that found roughly 20% of large, profitable U.S. corporations paid zero federal income taxes between 2008 and 2012.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
“There is something profoundly wrong in America when one out of five profitable corporations pay nothing in federal income taxes,” Sanders asserted. “Large corporations cannot continue to get more tax breaks when children in America go hungry. We need real tax reform to ensure that the most profitable corporations in America pay their fair share in taxes. That means closing corporate tax loopholes to raise the revenue necessary to rebuild America and create millions of jobs.”
