BLACK OUT: 63-point swing to Sanders among WI African-American voters

BLACK OUT: 63-point swing to Sanders among WI African-American voters | Global politics | Scoop.it
Hillary Clinton’s support among black voters is collapsing like a homebrewed server under a Russian hacker attack, and Bernie Sanders seems to be surging as a result. A recent Huffington Post analysis pointed out that Clinton led Sanders among black voters by 52 points in late February, and that lead dissolved to a mere nine points a month later. She now trails by 11 points among black voters in Wisconsin, which holds its primary on Tuesday -- a 63-point difference. “It’s all part of a dramatic national trend that has seen Clinton’s support among nonwhite voters dwindle to well under

Bernie Sanders Just Unleashed on Hillary Clinton over Panama Papers | Global politics | Scoop.it
In the midst of global outrage over the Panama Papers, Bernie Sanders is coming directly for Hillary Clinton, citing her support for the Panama trade pact.

Why the Panama Papers Could Catapult Bernie Sanders to the White House

Why the Panama Papers Could Catapult Bernie Sanders to the White House | Global politics | Scoop.it
The Panama Papers may be the defining story of the 2016 Democratic Primary. And Bernie Sanders is on the right side of history.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
“Panama is a world leader when it comes to allowing wealthy Americans and large corporations to evade US taxes by stashing their cash in offshore tax havens. The Panama free trade agreement will make this bad situation much worse. Each and every year, the wealthiest people in this country and the largest corporations evade about $100 billion in taxes through abusive and illegal offshore tax havens in Panama and in other countries.”

Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders 'on way to victory' in Wisconsin

Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders 'on way to victory' in Wisconsin | Global politics | Scoop.it
Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders were on their way to victory in the important primary battle of Wisconsin, according to exit polls taken by major US broadcasters.

Mr Cruz was placed on 47 points, with Donald Trump on 36 and Ohio Governor John Kasich on 14 points, according to exit polls announced by CNN before any actual results were declared.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
Kudos! Now Bernie gains momentum, and confirms catching up in delegates. It was expected, as soon as the primaries moved north. Hopefully the Bern is felt all the way to New York! On the other hand, the Panama papers will not favour HRC, as she supported the Panama Free Trade Agreement through Congress as Secretary of State, while Bernie opposed it and predicted the tax dodging it would generate.

Panama Papers: Revealing details live in the gaps between the lines

Panama Papers: Revealing details live in the gaps between the lines | Global politics | Scoop.it
Certain species of lizard - when threatened, cornered or in danger of being eaten - have the ability to "drop" their tail. This process, "Autotomy" (from the Greek, auto=self, tome=severing), enables the lizard to flee whilst the predator gets a brief distraction and small meal. The lizard survives. Tails grow back.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
...the majority of the information will “never be made public”... You bet, Wikileaks has started to make it available. The tax-dodging implication of US corporations is making Obama have the jitters, and it is splashing Hillary Clinton as on Tuesday, candidate Sanders blasted Clinton, saying that she "helped push the Panama Free Trade Agreement through Congress as Secretary of State and the results have been a disaster." Don't dismiss what the Papers will bring about, for the moment a small lizard tail has fallen in Iceland, but Macri, the recently annointed by Obama himself Argentina president, and the friend of the financial vultures, is in hot water. Further revelations are coming, and the sponsors of such a monumental release did a patchy work, as it always happens when you open Pandora's box. Did they want to incriminate Putin and Assad? They did a bad job, as they weren't even named, and if the Western MSM made such a fuss with their anti-Putin obsession, they have been slammed by their audience, who is sick and tired of such a gratuitous demonization. Now just wait and see, loads of dirty businesses are surfacing, in spite of Soros & Co. They didn't cut their tail, they jumped into an uncharted abyss.

George Soros’ Anti-Kremlin Info Laundering Backfires on Clinton, Cameron / Sputnik International

George Soros’ Anti-Kremlin Info Laundering Backfires on Clinton, Cameron / Sputnik International | Global politics | Scoop.it
The Soros-funded framing of the document release aimed to smear Putin, but did more to expose the collusion of Hillary Clinton, David Cameron, and other Western scam artists.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
In a series of emails revealed yesterday, in 2011 then-Secretary of State Clinton pushed the Panama Free Trade Agreement, despite warnings from watchdog groups that the agreement would exacerbate the growth of tax havens and increase money laundering activity. That trade deal, opposed by her Democratic presidential opponent Bernie Sanders, was actively lobbied for by Clinton’s State Department administration and Clinton ally Sidney Blumenthal. Interestingly, the list of implicated leaders reads like a who’s who of Clinton Global Initiative supporters, from the king of Saudi Arabia to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. Additionally, the most heavily implicated Western financial institution in the Panama Papers, Deutsche Bank, paid Clinton $485,000 in speaking fees shortly after the trade deal was ratified. The Clinton Monster That Won’t Die

The Clinton Monster That Won’t Die | Global politics | Scoop.it
As the primaries shuffle their way across the republic toward the D-Day of Super Tuesday, it may be worth recalling the political soil from which Democratic contestant Hillary Clinton emerged. Not when she was a Goldwater conservative. Not when she was a governor’s wife in Little Rock. Not when she arrived in the Senate or in Barack Obama’s Cabinet. But rather when she rode her husband’s quisling charm into the Oval Office. She frequently seconded Bill’s opinions and—like any good spouse in a political marriage—campaigned on his behalf. That was the key moment when the Democratic Party finally secured its special place in hell, nestled inside the devil’s pantheon of world-historical sellouts.

But before it can climb atop its fiery plinth, it must die. Now, as a party of the people, the Democratic Party is already interred. But it has found new life as a party of the one percent. And looking at it now, one has to wonder—has it ever been healthier? That depends on whether Hillary can connive her way into office and secure the black flag of neoliberalism for the party. You know, that banner her husband hoisted over the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in the misty dawn of our demise?
Enrique Ferro's insight:
In office, Clinton pursued Republican objectives. He launched a prison-building empire, gutted welfare, deregulated the financial markets, produced astonishing tax breaks for the rich, passed a trade bill that destroyed American jobs and wrecked Mexican agribusiness, and decided there was no good reason to maintain a wall between the unscrupulous capitalist investor and unwitting depositor. After all, as the Nineties refrain went, banks can police themselves. All the while, of course, he continued to peddle his sincerest sympathies to Main Street.

Enrique Ferro's insight:
Corporations and banks bribe the Clintons to buy political favors. The speaking racket is a (flimsy) cover. Like, there’s the time Goldman Sachs paid $200,000 for a Bill Talk a few months before the financial conglomerate lobbied Hill when she was secretary of state. At least 13 companies paid Bill and Hill at least $2.5 million in similar sleazy deals.

Turkey's president just publicly hit out at Obama

Turkey's president just publicly hit out at Obama | Global politics | Scoop.it
President Tayyip Erdogan has hit back at comments made by Barack Obama about press freedom in Turkey, saying the US President spoke out "behind my back".

Mr Obama said on Friday that he was “troubled” by the Turkish government's control of the media, while attending the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
This guy, Erdogan, makes me uneasy. Is he insane? His megalomania has made him run amok and afoul with all his alleged allies. Infuriated for losing his lucrative oil business with ISIS, he broke violently with his Russian friend, later he upset Merkal and the European leaders by challenging the EU with the migrant weapon and suceeded in coercing money and accession negotiations, but left a sour taste throughout Europe, and now he has busted Obama's Kurdish policies in Syria, while he has stirred civil war in the Turkish Kurdistan, finally showing his insolence in demanding allegiance from his imperial master, that is, reverting the roles. Yet he is playing a dangerous game, they all may conclude that he is too much out of touch with his statements and provocations.

Gov. Peter Shumlin of Vermont, an outspoken Clinton supporter and a superdelegate pledged to support her, shot down her latest attack against Sanders.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
Out of the 7,686 firearms recovered and traced in New York in 2014, only 55 were first purchased in Vermont, according to the ATF. In 2013, that number was 61 out of 8,539. As such, Vermont accounts for less than 1% of the total guns traced in either year, despite Vermont bordering New York.
