‘US interested in keeping Ukraine an open war as means of demoralizing Russia’

‘US interested in keeping Ukraine an open war as means of demoralizing Russia’ | Global politics | Scoop.it
With a significant escalation of the Ukrainian crisis, which has developed into an expanding civil war, the US is interested in prolonging the hostilities in Ukraine as a means to contain Russia, political analyst Dan Glazebrook told RT.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

A protracted war which remains open to the US military complex profits and make Ukraine a devastated land, weakening thereby Russia, which will have to help its Russian fellows in Ukraine, and even help Ukraine out of the chaos, whereas like in Libya Ukraine will be divided by feuding gangs. A typical prospect of the Empire of Chaos fingerprints, like Attila's horse, wherever it rides grass will never grow again. Civilization!

The Horror! The ISIL Cult Beheads, Crucifies Iraqi Children

The Horror! The ISIL Cult Beheads, Crucifies Iraqi Children | Global politics | Scoop.it
The ISIL cult has degenerated radically into animality and trespassed regions of barbarity where the devils fear to tread. Whatever the human mind can conceive of the level of savagery a person can...
Enrique Ferro's insight:

War is most merciless to children and exacts an enormous toll on them. To the list of the crimes perpetrated by ISIL, also add the crimes committed by the UK and the US in the country. It is now a proven fact that the US and the UK have deployed hundreds of tons of depleted uranium (DU) against Iraq, whereby endangering the lives of the Iraqi people. A crime of mammoth dimensions, the deployment of Depleted Uranium (DU) will cause tremendously destructive effects which can remain for hundreds of years and can cause cancer, leukaemia, brain damage, kidney failure, and extreme birth defects.

Distorting the story of Syria’s Heritage destruction, Eva Bartlett, Crescent Magazine | Global politics | Scoop.it
The takfiris’ destruction of Syria’s heritage—indeed of all humanity’s—is extremely serious. The world’s including the UN’s turning a blind eye to this horrendous crime against humanity is shocking.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Yet, in spite of DGAM warnings and UNESCO confirmations, as we near the start of year five of the war on sovereign Syria, the Axis-of-Interventionalists continue to arm terrorists within Syria, and train and funnel still more terrorists into Syria — terrorists who are not only murdering Syrians and Palestinians, but destroying Syria’s heritage, as they have been doing since the beginning.

Ukraine’s currency just collapsed 50 percent in two days

Ukraine’s currency just collapsed 50 percent in two days | Global politics | Scoop.it
Ukraine is running out of money, so it had to announce it would stop propping up its currency. It promptly fell by half.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Ukraine has no money and barely any economy. It's already talking to the IMF about a $15 billion bailout and what's euphemistically being called a debt "restructuring"—i.e., default—as its reserves have dwindled down to $6.42 billion, only enough to cover five weeks of imports. (Three months worth is considered the absolute least you can get by with).

‘US imperial overstretch: Washington reckless in calls to arm Kiev, should put Russia into context’ | Global politics | Scoop.it
Washington should stop making dangerous moves, like arming Kiev with US weapons, and must put the Ukrainian conflict into a wider context of crises, cooperating with Russia to solve them, Martin Sieff, columnist for the Post-Examiner newspaper, told RT.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

The major problem is that Obama, Biden, Kerry..., are incompetent and irresponsible, and we are in their hands.

US Vice President Joe Biden has called on European countries to show unity when it comes to sanctions against Russia, labeling the dissenting voices “inappropriate and annoying”, reported ‘Der Spiegel’, quoting the participants of the Brussels meeting.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

European self-interest and wish to take independent initiatives must certainly be very annoying to Uncle Sam, who has forgotten that we entered the 21st century and the time of the Banana Republics is over.

Chelsea Clinton's Husband Suffers Massive Hedge Fund Loss On Greek Investment | Zero Hedge

Chelsea Clinton's Husband Suffers Massive Hedge Fund Loss On Greek Investment | Zero Hedge | Global politics | Scoop.it
Despite having Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein as an investor and being Bill and Hillary Clinton's son-in-law, Marc Mezvinsky (and two former colleagues from Goldman Sachs who manage Eaglevale Partners hedge fund) told investors in a letter sent last week they had been "incorrect" on Greece, helping produce losses for the firm’s main fund during two of the past three years. By 'incorrect' Chelsea Clinton's husband means the Eaglevale fund focused on Greece lost a stunning 48% last year and, as The Wall Street Journal reports, is impacting the overall returns of the roughly $400 million fund which has spent 27 of its 34 months in operation below its "high-water mark."
