Article: Sanders Has Always Wanted to Debate Trump -- or Any Other Representative of the "Billionaire Class" | Global politics | Scoop.it
Article: Sanders Has Always Wanted to Debate Trump -- or Any Other Representative of the 'Billionaire Class' - It was a given that Sanders would embrace the idea of debating Trump -- after the billionaire told Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday that he would be willing to debate the dissident Democrat. Sanders, who has tried without success to get one more debate with Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton before the June 7 California primary, jumped at the prospect of stirring things up with Trump.

Article: Clinton campaign in crisis over email controversy, declining poll numbers

Article: Clinton campaign in crisis over email controversy, declining poll numbers - The presidential campaign of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was hit by twin blows this week: a harshly critical report by the State Department inspector general over her use of a private email server while in office, and polls showing that Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders had closed the gap in California, the most populous US state and one of six holding primaries or caucuses on June 7.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
While Clinton has offered evasive and contradictory accounts for her reasons for using a private email server, the real motive is clear: to retain control over email traffic and avoid having it subject to the federal Freedom of Information Act. This became particularly critical as Bill and Hillary Clinton cashed in on his presidency -- and her future political prospects -- amassing a $150 million fortune by trading on their contacts with Wall Street and corporate America more generally.

Article: The Speech Obama Should Have Given in Hiroshima | Global politics | Scoop.it
Article: The Speech Obama Should Have Given in Hiroshima - President Obama said in Hiroshima Friday that 'death came from the sky.' No mention of why. Or who was responsible, as if it were a natural disaster rather than a crime perpetrated by actual people. Obama was either unwilling or unable to confront the truth and make amends.

Here's what he could have said to try to do so.

Enrique Ferro's insight:
Nothing could ever have been transformational about Clinton, a veteran political apparatchik who has a record sufficiently tarnished to warrant barring. Her husband, on the other hand, managed to shape the United States in a manner few Republicans could have, giving it a true Tory savaging if ever there was one.

Article: Should Clinton Withdraw her Candidacy? | Global politics | Scoop.it
Article: Should Clinton Withdraw her Candidacy? - 'Those damn emails' are damning Hillary more and more. This article quotes several sources, including right-wing blogs, about the investigation and possible consequences, and suggests she withdraw from the presidential race.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
My take is that she will drop out of the race, whether by persuasion in exchange for forgetfulness, or by indictment, and later pardoned by Obama. She will avoid prison, but it will signal the fall of the House Clinton, as their notorious Foundation will be branded as a highly corrupted scheme.

Article: 'Woopsy Daisy' Not This Time! - It appears some people actually are above the law. Or, as Bill the Butcher might say, 'woopsy daisy!'
Enrique Ferro's insight:
You've been following the dazzling display of corporate power in muted disbelief, having already been marginalized by a rigged voting system. You campaigned tirelessly to help a true progressive win the Democratic nomination, but now, with the DNC's corporate stooges -- that is, superdelegates -- poised to appoint a candidate who is to the right of Ted Cruz on matters of war, you're not even sure you'll vote. The entire process is corrupt. You have no voice. And you know you have no voice. It's been documented.

Article: Did Black Lives in Africa and Haiti Matter to the Clintons?

Article: Did Black Lives in Africa and Haiti Matter to the Clintons? | Global politics | Scoop.it
Article: Did Black Lives in Africa and Haiti Matter to the Clintons? - Describes hidden role of the Clinton administration in the Rwandan genocide and subsequent wars in central Africa to control mineral resources, and suspicions of corruption following the Haiti earthquake by Hillary's State Dept and the Clinton Foundation. Emerging revelations from Hillary's emails and other evidence would make her exceptionally vulnerable to effective GOP attack as the Democratic nominee.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
Trump has exploited the hedonism, self-indulgence and wishful fantasies of stress-escapist citizens to acquire great wealth. The Clintons have pursued power and self-enrichment through exploiting citizen fear and racism, leaving massive death and destruction in their wake. Why, inquiring minds should ask, has there been such abundant press attention to Trump's loud mouth, obsessive narcissism and White colonial racist declarations, and so little to Clinton's narcissistic grandiosity and destructive abuses of state power demonstrating White colonial racism in action?

Enrique Ferro's insight:
In 2012, Ove Bring, Swedish professor emeritus of international law, stated in a radio interview that the matter was basic: no prosecutor wants to be shown up as a fool, and the issue of not going through it was a matter of prestige for both the team and the Swedish legal system. Besides, if the interview was ever to take place, nothing would transpire, as “the evidence is not enough to charge him with a crime.” Ny persists in this charade, pulling out all ceremonial stops to give the impression something is credibly present.
