Enrique Ferro's insight:
Debbie Wasserman Schultz has a point because for her the Democratic Party is a private affair, and she sees the primaries as a parocchial contest. The problem with this is that a party which closes its primaries loses sight from the general mood of voters and may reach the finals in a delluded spirit. Precisely by opening the primaries they get the knowledge of the candidate who would collect more support to win the presidential duel. The Republicans are getting it, but the Democrats because of so many closed primaries may not field eventually their most successful candidate. All in all Schultz is moire interested in her chair, as a slumbering bureaucrat.

Enrique Ferro's insight:
Syrians in Homs said Farouk went into the city with the genocidal slogan: ‘Alawis to the grave, Christians to Beirut’. Shouting ‘God is Great’ they blew up Homs hospital, because it had been treating soldiers. The churches blamed Farouk for the ethnic cleansing of more than 50,000 Christians from the city, and for the imposition of an Islamist tax. Journalist Radwan Mortada says most Farouk members were sectarian Salafis, armed and funded by Saudi Arabia. They later happily worked with the various al Qaeda groups, and were first to blame their own atrocities on the Army.
