Fort Russ: The End of a Myth | Global politics | Scoop.it
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Russia, defending itself against Washington's geopolitical maneuvers, has gained new allies, new markets, and strengthened itself internally, politically, and morally. It does not need Ukraine, or rather the bankruptcy estate that remains of the Ukrainian state.

Russia vetoes MH17 tribunal draft at UN Security Council — RT News

Russia vetoes MH17 tribunal draft at UN Security Council — RT News | Global politics | Scoop.it
Russia has vetoed a draft of a UN Security Council resolution calling for an international tribunal on the crash of the Malaysian Airlines MH17 flight over eastern Ukraine last July and classifying the plane’s downing as a threat to peace and security.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Never ever there has been a UN tribunal for the downing of an airplane, not when the Americans toppled an Iranian liner, not when the Ukrainians did likewise against a Russian one, or even when US-supported terrorists destroyed a Cuban plane... This is just a media stunt, in order to present Russia under a bad light in the global US-controlled media. Such a tribunal would have been premature as the investigation hasn't been closed (or it is rather hold by the countries doing it), and the only purpose would be to blame Russia for the sake of the US-led Russophobia. The US and its clients are using this tragedy for their hawkish political games of harassement against Russia.

It's no wonder that the Viceroy of Ukraine Pyatt was forced to visit Transcarpathia on 21 July with a "housekeeping visit." The presence of the most important individual in Ukrainian politics indicates that the US is seriously worried about the future of this unstable corner of its newest colony.

MH17 crash tribunal would 'extend Dutch-led investigation indefinitely’

MH17 crash tribunal would 'extend Dutch-led investigation indefinitely’ | Global politics | Scoop.it
Malaysia and the Netherlands are putting the cart before the horse by proposing to set up a tribunal on the MH17 Malaysia plane crash before obtaining the results of the international investigation, Alexander Mercouris, International Affairs Editor at Russia Insider told RT.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Why set up a tribunal or even talk about setting up a tribunal before we know what the results of the international investigation are? It is a case of putting the cart, as they say, before the horse. First we wait the results of the investigation, which we are expecting around October, then we look at what kind of tribunal there is. The concern must be that what is actually happening is that that report is not going to be very conclusive. Those who are now talking about setting up a tribunal are trying to use that device just to extend the investigation indefinitely.

‘Libya is McDonalds for US’: How Gaddafi’s ‘pro-democracy’ son stood up against the West — RT News

‘Libya is McDonalds for US’: How Gaddafi’s ‘pro-democracy’ son stood up against the West — RT News | Global politics | Scoop.it
Once hailed by the West as a ‘proponent of change,’ the son of Libya’s slain leader Muammar Gaddafi has been sentenced to death by the self-proclaimed government in Tripoli. RT looks back at Saif Gaddafi’s life and interviews.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

The attitude of the West against Saif al-Ghaddafi is unpresentable, to put it mildly. While they demonized Saif, who had helped to save the six medics condemned to death by Benghazi tribunals, they hailed the former top justice who had ratified such sentences twice, just because he was their man in Benghazi. More often than not the West's political stunts are disgusting and have no shame.

Russians’ attitude to US improved slightly, latest poll shows — RT Russian politics

Russians’ attitude to US improved slightly, latest poll shows — RT Russian politics | Global politics | Scoop.it
Russian citizens claim that their attitude to the United States, the EU and Ukraine has become slightly better, but remains very low as anti-Russian sanctions remain in place.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Mr Leopold must think that only people in the West, and particularly in the US, are free thinkers and enjoy democracy. As a matter of fact, the media parrot all of them the same (wooden tongue, as the French say), and pluralism of the press is a vague remembrance of the past, the cops continue shooting the Blacks with full impunity, or people appear hanged in their cells in a massive carceral system, and whistle blowers must seek exile (in Russia!) or suffer monstrous jail terms (not in US/EU beloved Saudi Arabia, but in the US!), and Gitmo isn't evacuated and returned to Cuba, or Puerto Rico remains a colony financially sacked, while countries such as Greece lose the little independence they still had... Meanwhile the Russians are happy with their democracy and support Putin by 90%, and the French MPs who have been to Crimea report how happy people are down there, whereas the Western political meddling and military intervention never sleeps. I could continue, as the list of "happiness" here and there is very long...
