Fort Russ: 84% of Ukrainians would entrust Putin with Ukraine | Global politics | Scoop.it
Enrique Ferro's insight:

"...incompetent mediocrity that is virtually every mid-level and senior Ukrainian official..." This characterization applies to most of the politicians and officials in the EU too!

Fort Russ: Stories from Oles Buzina: Unheroic “bandera”

Fort Russ: Stories from Oles Buzina: Unheroic “bandera” | Global politics | Scoop.it
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Ivan Babii fought for the independence and unity of Ukraine during the “liberation struggle” of 1918-1920. Yet he fought as a soldier, not a criminal. At the time of his death, he was 41 years old. Stepan Bandera’s path into Ukrainian history began by shedding his Ukrainian blood. This alone should be sufficient in depriving him of the Hero of Ukraine title.

Fort Russ: Mukachevo-2: Aidar Battalion takes over a village

Fort Russ: Mukachevo-2: Aidar Battalion takes over a village | Global politics | Scoop.it
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Thus the Mukachevo Syndrome is continuing, with the "bandit battalions" and the Right Sector behaving like genuine occupiers on captured territory. The local inhabitants still don't understand those aren't isolated incidents by individual "defenders", but ordinary conduct by Ukraine's marginals who were given weapons and told they were "the defenders of the Motherland." Of course, their motherland is the pirate island of Tortuga into which Maidan transformed Ukraine.

‘Jez We Can!’ Beyond Corbyn’s campaign, a mass labor movement is needed to fight austerity

‘Jez We Can!’ Beyond Corbyn’s campaign, a mass labor movement is needed to fight austerity | Global politics | Scoop.it
The Labour Party has proved itself in recent years to be a party of war and privatization. It’s crucial to acknowledge this from the outset, not deny it.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

This is the man! Choose him and challenge austerity, neolibs and neocons, or bust him and undergo more of the same...

Any UN tribunal on MH17 crash would operate on ‘automatic pilot’ against Russia

Any UN tribunal on MH17 crash would operate on ‘automatic pilot’ against Russia | Global politics | Scoop.it
Results of a UN tribunal over the MH17 crash are almost preordained, because countries taking part in the investigation are US allies and politically motivated to blame Russia directly or indirectly, political analyst Srdja Trifkovic told RT.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Another shameful attempt to demonize Russia. Why not a trial against the US for the Iranian liner they willfully toppled in 1988 (290 killed), or against Ucraine for the Russian liner they toppled in 2001 (78 killed), or the Cuban jet terror bomb by the US-supported Cuban terrorists in 1976 (73 killed), etc.? The hypocrisy and double standards of the Western powers have no limits.

US National Endowment for Democracy labeled ‘undesirable’ group under new law — RT Russian politics

US National Endowment for Democracy labeled ‘undesirable’ group under new law — RT Russian politics | Global politics | Scoop.it
Prosecutors have recognized NED’s activities in Russia as undesirable and undermining national security after the US NGO spent millions on attempts to question the legitimacy of Russian elections and tarnish the prestige of military service.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Well done! The NED has been for many years behind global destabilization and many coups d'etat. Now that it has been properly labelled, the Russian citizens may breath more easily. Hopefully Latin American states and others will follow this healthy example.

Black woman found dead in Cleveland jail cell, family demands answers — RT USA

Black woman found dead in Cleveland jail cell, family demands answers — RT USA | Global politics | Scoop.it
A black woman has been found dead in her prison cell near Cleveland, Ohio, police said, adding that the autopsy “revealed no suspicious injuries.” Her family, however, claims she was “perfectly fine” a day before she died.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

The third inmate found dead in jail in a week or so! Now the US carceral system, which accounts for 1/4 of world prisoners, has found a swift way of execution, no death row with its costs and protests, just a suicide epidemy!

Fort Russ: Russian submarine found off the coast of Sweden

Fort Russ: Russian submarine found off the coast of Sweden | Global politics | Scoop.it
Enrique Ferro's insight:

The Som was apparently sunk in a collision with a Swedish cargo ship. It was operating in Swedish waters because, well, "neutral" Sweden was busy selling strategically important iron ore to Germany, sending it there on its own ships. It would do so again during World War 2. Some things just don't change...

'Show trial': Gaddafi’s son Saif sentenced to death in absentia

'Show trial': Gaddafi’s son Saif sentenced to death in absentia | Global politics | Scoop.it
The trial of Muammar Gaddafi’s son is a show trial from start to finish, basically revenge dressed up as judicial process, says one of Saif Gaddafi's lawyers, John Jones. The name Gaddafi carries with it an assumption of guilt, he adds.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Indeed this is a revenge trial against a name, continuing the  intent and purpose to exterminate the whole Ghaddafi family, after the barbarous lynching of Ghaddafi himself and sons, and also the death even of grand children by the NATO murderous "kinetic rallies". NATO hadn't enough to depose Ghaddafi and stealing the Libyan money, now the minions it left there to terrorize the Libyan people continue its rampage. This sort of show trials and sentences are designed to whitewash their own crimes.
