Article: Hillary vs Bernie: The View From Berkeley

Article: Hillary vs Bernie: The View From Berkeley - It's Super Bowl week on the Left Coast but the number one topic of conversation is not the Broncos or the Panthers, it's Hillary versus Bernie. That's a big change from three months ago, when we talked about the Warriors and the awfulness of Donald Trump. But now we have a real contest for the Democratic nomination.

Article: At The New Hampshire Democratic Presidential Debate, Populism Wins

Article: At The New Hampshire Democratic Presidential Debate, Populism Wins - Sanders' argument about the corrupting effects of money in politics and the need to break up the big banks was compelling. Clinton's profession of independence was less plausible. Clinton's foreign policy experience certainly showed. But Democrats have to be haunted by her taste for intervention and regime change (Iraq, Libya, Syria). And sadly, the push for a new cold war with Russia went unchallenged.

Syria: NATO’s Last Desperate Options in Lost Proxy War | New Eastern Outlook

Syria: NATO’s Last Desperate Options in Lost Proxy War | New Eastern Outlook | Global politics | Scoop.it
As Syrian forces and their allies complete the encirclement of Syria’s largest city, Aleppo, the United States and its regional allies have signaled a sudden increased interest in ground operations in Syria, including US airpower backing…
Enrique Ferro's insight:

In reality, Turkey and Saudi Arabia have played a central role in both the intentional creation of ISIS and the logistical and financial perpetuation of its activities within Syria and Iraq. This is not according only to enemies of Ankara and Riyadh, but according to their central most ally, the United States.

As early as 2012, a Department of Intelligence Agency (DIA) document (.pdf) admitted in regards to the Syrian conflict and the rise of ISIS that:

If the situation unravels there is the possibility of establishing a declared or undeclared Salafist principality in eastern Syria (Hasaka and Der Zor), and this is exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime, which is considered the strategic depth of the Shia expansion (Iraq and Iran).

Mention of this “Salafist” (Islamic) “principality” (State) in 2012 is clearly when it was decided to transform US, Saudi, and Turkish-backed Al Qaeda affiliates – then called “rebels” – officially into ISIS.

Murder in the House of Trade Unions Was Pre-Planned: A Sensational Investigation

Murder in the House of Trade Unions Was Pre-Planned: A Sensational Investigation | Global politics | Scoop.it
Enrique Ferro's insight:

"A fundamental rule of journalism is that it should always show the point of view of both sides of the conflict." The Western MSM have obliterated that rule ever since the late 1990s at least. Overwhelmingly they only broadcast or report their governments' propaganda, in line with the US agencies and government.

Why have New Hampshire Democrats gone gaga for Bernie Sanders?

Why have New Hampshire Democrats gone gaga for Bernie Sanders? | Global politics | Scoop.it
They're out of sync with the state's history.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

New Hampshire Democrats going gaga for Sanders is out of sync with this past. So looking for answers, I turned to Dante Scala, a political science professor at the University of New Hampshire who is an expert on the state's political demographics. He said he was puzzled by Sanders' over-the-moon showing in the polls. Noting the historical pattern, he said, "That's exactly why I thought Hillary Clinton would be doing better than she is."

Make Public the Transcript and Video of Hillary's Speeches to Goldman Sachs

Make Public the Transcript and Video of Hillary's Speeches to Goldman Sachs | Global politics | Scoop.it
Hillary Clinton received $675,000 from Goldman Sachs as speaking fees. She reportedly* used those speeches to make clear that she would let bankers off the hook for their crimes and abuses. This is at odds with what she publicly tells the rest of us. A transcript or video, from Clinton or anyone else good enough to provide it, would settle all debate over what she said.

Also, Hillary Clinton seems to think this is funny.**

Bernie Sanders Could End Up Winning Iowa | Alternative

Bernie Sanders Could End Up Winning Iowa | Alternative | Global politics | Scoop.it
21st Century Wire says…
Iowa’s Democratic Party primary was one of the closest races in history – reported by the media as being decided by only .3% of the vote, with Hillary Clinton supposedly taking that narrow victory. But has Hillary really...
Enrique Ferro's insight:

“The final count of delegates to the state convention (aside from the seven won by Martin O’Malley) was Clinton 699, Sanders 695. But by actual voter decisions, the count was Sanders 695, Clinton 693, and six ties. Sure, Clinton right now goes to the state convention with four more committed delegates than Sanders, but she didn’t win her margin via voters, but by a mathematically bizarre series of coin flips.”

Russia Is Preparing the Syrian Army to Repel Any Turkish Incursion

Russia Is Preparing the Syrian Army to Repel Any Turkish Incursion | Global politics | Scoop.it
Enrique Ferro's insight:

“Secretary Kerry is not only going against UN resolutions that he himself is quoting, but worse still he is defending Al-Qaeda and their affiliate groups that are run by ex-Guantanamo prisoners, so to stop the military operations around Aleppo against The Army of Conquest is not solely about helping the citizens of Nubl and Al-Zahraa. The main purpose of such a call is to prevent the SAA from eradicating Al-Qaeda et al from Aleppo and its country side, these areas are not under siege since they are linked to Idlib and the Turkish border”
