The world is on fire: Who cares! It’s #TheDress color that matters | Global politics | Scoop.it
Is it black and blue? Is it white and gold? What color is it? The Western media has been fixated on these questions this past week – questions that have dominated TV news bulletins, newspaper headlines, and news websites.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Perhaps their trivia obsession reflects the fact that they cannot speak of anything serious because almost all of it falls into the censoring radar.

Venezuela heads list of 15 most miserable economies - research | Global politics | Scoop.it
When it comes to miserable places to live and work, Venezuela takes the cake, with Ukraine and Greece not far behind. Along with Argentina and South Africa, they make up the five most “painful” economies according to a Bloomberg survey.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Puaff! Bloomberg is another imperial stuff.

Russia, Egypt to hold joint naval drill in Mediterranean | Global politics | Scoop.it
Russia and Egypt have agreed to hold a joint naval drill in the Mediterranean and to carry out joint anti-terrorist exercises, Russia’s Defense Ministry said in a statement following talks between ministers of the two countries.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

So much for Russian isolation. And what will Big Brother do? They can't set the assassination of the leader of the Brotherhood, because they are in jail, so perhaps they'll attempt to assassinate Sissi (?)...

How they missed RT: Here comes the Guardian's spring offensive

How they missed RT: Here comes the Guardian's spring offensive | Global politics | Scoop.it
The Guardian's RT section must have been feeling lonely. After a flurry of “hit-pieces” against the Russian state broadcaster between mid-November and orthodox Christmas, the barrage suddenly paused.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

It is a disgrace that a newspaper such as The Guardian is turning into just one more media with no journalistic ethics, and even no journalism tout court. Brian made me happy quoting their exceptional piece of "journalism" about the fact of Nemtsov being alive in the morning and dead in the night! But I don't understand yet how come the Kremlin to appear as an ingredient in the soup. Perhaps because it was in the nearby? So was that their Nietschean interpretation of a no-fact?!? In that case what is The Guardian worth for, if it is unable to report facts, but only speculate with their post-modernist interpretation? Maybe they should have quoted Baudrillard.

Fort Russ: Ukraine to start military demobilization

Fort Russ: Ukraine to start military demobilization | Global politics | Scoop.it
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Demob or rather a vacation? For the time being Kiev cannot trust the disgruntled soldiers returning from defeat. They will try to train new recruits if any, and then re-mob the reservists in vacation. A risky gambit, as the men will fight a riot. From whatever perspective, the junta is in a shambles. That they are mulling a provocation against Russia, especially encouraged by their US puppeteers seems the logic of the game, but they have a problem of manpower. And the volunteer battalions aren't to be trusted, they also are corroded by nationalist wrath against Kiev. Now if killing failed politicians in Moscow doesn't prove too productive, they may be mulling a Saakashvili template and attack, neither Russia nor Crimea nor even the Donbass (they would lose more territory), but Transnistria in coordination with Moldova. It remains to be seen if the latter will take the US money to do so...

Fort Russ: Ukraine's iron and steel production fall sharply | Global politics | Scoop.it
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Of course "that bright spot is fading very, very rapidly.! Ukraine has lost its natural market, Russia. Likewise Poland and the Baltic states. They are hysterically anti-Russian, but nobody is interested in Western Europe in their production. They can't even offer tourism! Only Poland exports hands, hard working men and diligent home-cleaning women. And the Polish government will spend their remittances in weapons to defend Poland against the Russians! Where the Baltics get the money from is unknown. Anyway it is the only countries in the EU ready to raise their contribution to NATO!

'Not the time for business as usual with Russia' – US presses EU

'Not the time for business as usual with Russia' – US presses EU | Global politics | Scoop.it
A US State Department deputy spokesperson urged European partners to restrain from doing business with Russia because of the developments in Ukraine. The US statement comes in response to new agreements recently signed between Russia and Cyprus.
Enrique Ferro's insight:

The US cynically label "unity" to its diktat. And the US Big Brother is ready to twist the arms of sovereign states if they do ot heed to their threats. As long as a majority of the European states feel terrified under the US brutal policies, Europe will not be free, but only a despicable buffoon.

'Europe will face a 9/11 within two years’ – Colonel Gaddafi’s cousin

'Europe will face a 9/11 within two years’ – Colonel Gaddafi’s cousin | Global politics | Scoop.it
Colonel Gaddafi’s cousin predicts a “9/11 in Europe within two years,” as Islamic State militants join thousands of migrants beating a path to Europe. His warning comes as Home Secretary Theresa May says Britain’s terror threat is “grave and growing.”
Enrique Ferro's insight:

Present Libya is what the West made of it. And now they will harvest the grapes of wrath they sowed. Had they left it alone, it could have developed into a more open country, but they preferred to support Islamist rebels, more or less affiliated to al-Qaeda. The European rulers are really blind and sometimes they don't care of the interests of their own countries, but only their pockets. As for Libya, Sarkozy wanted very badly to get rid of Gaddafi, with whom he was indebt, as the latter had funded the former's presidential campaign, and Obama and his women-warriors only saw Gaddafi's ambition to make an African Union, with its own banks and institutions and currency. So now they have chaos and Islamic State in Libya, and chaos and Boko Haram in Western Africa, etc. Well done!
