We cannot overlook the fact that ISIS/ISIL/IS was funded and nurtured from the very beginning by the West and its Gulf State clients. Recent publications on WikiLeaks make clear that back in 2007 Syria tried to persuade the US to join them in subduing these Al Qaeda affiliates but instead the US decided to use these militants against the Syrian government - funding them and training them in northern Jordan!
Mohammed Al-Fatah (55) was born and raised in the Libyan capital of Tripoli. He belongs to both the Warfalla and the Gaddafa tribe. At the time of overthrow of the Jamahiriya he worked in Europe, w...
Enrique Ferro's insight:
the Libyans loved Gaddafi. We showed this when two million of us marched in Tripoli in July 2011. The Western media chose not to report on this march. I quote [former Chairman of Libya's National Transitional Council] Abdul Jalil, who in an interview with television news channel Al-Arabiya in May 2014 declared: “Gaddafi never ordered to kill protesters. This was done by snipers from the West, France, United Kingdom and United States (FUKUS). The deaths that were shown to us were foreigners, we dressed them up in Libyan clothes, and nobody came to claim their bodies. I knew about this plan when I was still in Gaddafi’s government, but at that time I could not say anything about it. But that was the plan and we had to carry it out.” If this had been known in 2011, there never would have been a UN Resolution 1973. Even General Haftar said in an interview with Al-Arabyia: “The Al-Fatah Revolution was a real revolution and Gaddafi was the true leader of all Libyans. What we have now is an invasion.”
This weekend’s EU summit in Brussels marked a major escalation of threats against Russia, raising the specter of full-scale war between Russia and NATO.
Enrique Ferro's insight:
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, the business oligarch and leader of the right-wing regime installed by the Western powers in Kiev, set the tone for the summit. He urged the EU to take a tougher stance against Russia, which he accused of “military aggression and terror.”
BENGHAZI Libya (Reuters) - Militant fighters overran a Libyan special forces base in the eastern city of Benghazi on Tuesday after a battle involving rockets and warplanes that killed at least 30 people.A
It is regrettable that the European Council, in spite of the interests of its member-states, takes its lead from the countries seeking to implement geopolitical schemes aimed at making confrontation with Russia increasingly acute. Russia still hopes that the EU will be able to gain an independent perspective on the situation free from 20th century stereotypes and engage in constructive efforts to facilitate a settlement of Ukraine’s internal conflict.
If new anti-Russian sanctions are adopted, Russia reserves the right to take retaliatory measures in order to protect its legitimate interests
