Aunque la captura de las instituciones estatales por los Hermanos Musulmanes les permite definir la “auténtica” feminidad egipcia en las leyes estatales, sin embargo, esos esfuerzos están siendo continuamente desafiados por los nuevos significados de la condición de la mujer en las plazas y calles de Egipto, así como en los medios sociales. Si prestamos atención a las representaciones y actuaciones enfrentadas alrededor de la “auténtica” feminidad egipcia, podremos observar un terreno en constante cambio, donde aún queda espacio para volver a imaginar y volver a crear la identidad, la ciudadanía y el sistema de gobierno (en oposición a las conclusiones más pesimistas que se están trazando acerca de la transición y el desarrollo de los derechos de las mujeres en Egipto)."
