Although France's economy and the government's finances are in reasonably good shape, the country's Achilles Heel is its banks. The French banks have lent heavily to southern Europe, especially Spain and Italy. If either or both of those countries were unable to repay their debts, France's banks could go bust, and it is far from clear whether the French government could afford to rescue them.

When you are a long-term expatriate like me (20+ years in the air), Facebook is a fantastic tool, however it is also a great time waster, introducing to much distractions and decreasing productivity.

 

[You can keep the good things about Facebook without being annoyed by constant temptations to socialize and forgeting your most important tasks for the day.

 

I have now switched totally my interactions on Facebook to my Email inbox with a specific folder and I have gain at least 90 minutes/day cutting all the distractions by avoiding interacting in real time on Facebook timeline. I still need my account but I switched also Facebook News Feed to my Google reader so can read and respond with my mobile devices iPad and smart phone when and where I want]

Only one third of British expatriates who have moved to China view the move “in a positive light”, according to findings in the latest NatWest International Personal Banking quality of life index.

 

This is interesting but I would like to know more about the reasons why expats did not see China as a positive move. Very often if the accompaying partner is looking for a job, language barrier is the biggest obstacle with working regulations.
