France: Reluctant to reform - FT.com | Global Leaders | Scoop.it
Fabien Cohen, a tousle-haired 25-year-old in a hoodie and a denim jacket, cuts a figure about as far from the image of the suave grands patrons of French business as it is possible to imagine.

France is less and les competitive internationally and has a unemployment rate of 10% of the work force. Adding more taxes on capital gains will make things worst.

5 Reasons You Need a Facebook Marketing Professional | Social Media Today

5 Reasons You Need a Facebook Marketing Professional | Social Media Today | Global Leaders | Scoop.it

Facebook marketing success is not an easy road.

1. Users are more experienced and smarter in using social networks.

2. The range of demographic population has already reached all age groups.

3. Social networks are first of all, place for people to connect with friends. Most of them do not want to hear about products promotions and watch advertisments.

4. Brands are becoming publishers and any brand is a media company now. Not anyone is capable of preparing a quality content plan and respond to audience information appetites.

5. A community manager job is not a simple one. A person who is leading the Facebook community must know how to connect with an audience and communicate a brand’s message. He should not have problem with flexible working hours since this is not 9-17 job. Community manager should love people and talking with people and he must know how to put his ego aside.

Survey: Talent Management Challenged in Multinational Markets - Talent Management magazine | Global Leaders | Scoop.it

Emerging market multinationals are struggling to build effective international management teams as they grapple with cultural differences, conflicting internal perceptions of talent management, according to a new Ernst & Young survey of 810 business executives from all major growth markets.

The two main knowledge gaps in top management teams are an awareness of local culture (51 percent) and an understanding of global markets (50 percent). Only 18 percent said their company achieves the right balance between local talent and expatriate managers in international markets.

Do You Hire For IQ Or Klout Score? Good Question !

Do You Hire For IQ Or Klout Score? Good Question ! | Global Leaders | Scoop.it
In the past decade, the word “friend” became a verb, the word “like” became a noun, and “tweet” became more than a birdsong.

I think we should start by evaluating the skills and personality types needed for each function and working environment.

Being social is just one skill that alone can't make someone or an organization creative or foster innovation.

I think good analytical thinking and judgement is very much-needed in a social economy as we are totally overwhelmed by the amount of knowledge we can get for free from the internet.

Too often people forget the facts and favor sensationalism or sentimentalism, even journalists don't check their sources they find on YouTube or other social networks.

This article does not convince me that we have enough proofs to conclude that being social and having a high Klout score is linked with creativity and innovation.

Are you ?

Your body language shapes who you are

Using a few simple tweaks to body language, Harvard researcher Amy Cuddy discovers ways to help people become more powerful

Body language affects how others see us, but it may also change how we see ourselves. Social psychologist Amy Cuddy shows how “power posing” - standing in a posture of confidence, even when we don’t feel confident - can affect testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain, and might even have an impact on our chances for success.

3 Reasons "Balance" Has Become A Dirty Word At Work

3 Reasons "Balance" Has Become A Dirty Word At Work | Global Leaders | Scoop.it

Recently, a skeptical senior leader asked me to explain the business case for why organizations need to take a more coordinated, strategic approach to work flexibility.

When Millennials say they want “balance,” they don’t mean work less. They mean work differently and more flexibly. There’s a big difference. My experience is that most Millennials are willing to work very hard when required; however, they might want to work from home or come into the office earlier or later then traditional hours. The problem is that outdated language limits their ability to describe accurately what they are trying to achieve.
