Listen to an amazing man with research-based practical ideas on how to teach in and out of the classroom. In fact, his hole-in-the wall experiment may revolutionize how we view organized education. Did I say may? Let me correct myself and say will. Yes, we can now show evidence that learners need facilitators and socially engaging learning activities. If schools won't provide it, teachers will. Join the talk for free and learn all about the experiment and how to move forward for our children and the future of the world: http://www.wiziq.com/course/27123-sugata-mitra
You're not alone as a teacher or learner, anymore. You can now join teachers from around the world and share information. You are invited to join a free hands-on professional development course for educators and/or anyone who wants to share information in a socially meaningful way.
The course includes live online classes (with recordings), content (via the courseware), discussions (via the course feed), and hands-on activities. Participants will create videos using Webcams via WizIQ classes, screencast-o-matic, upload to Youtube and Vimeo for blended learning, the flipped class, and to market their online courses. Participants will learn how to teach with the use of web technologies such as blogs, wikis, google drive, badges, the WizIQ live class, Moodle, social networks, and videos.
Participants who complete the tasks will receive a certificate of participation.
I would like to invite you to the first ever free Healthy and Sustainable MOOC on WizIQ in the month of September for 5 weeks. Let's speak out for those who cannot. We should not let any government strip us of our human rights to live, feel, and think as we wish. Spread the word so that those who can will help the oppressed. http://youtu.be/EFS6cP9auDc

Dr. Nellie Deutsch's insight:
Think of the hard life young people ages 17-40 have to live because of MS. It's a daily struggle with what "normal" people take for granted. MS has become a business and money is the only solution. There are medications but the prices are ridiculously high so that everyone gains and the bureaucracy is something we need to address. Here's more about MS so they can give MS victims a chance to live a normal life and not judge and/or fire them at an impulse. Being open to others is key. I hope you can see the following movie right through to the end so you can better understand MS and its victims: http://youtu.be/6VbaLzo--ds
The current Moodle MOOC is in its second week. The participants are eager to learn and share their explorations, learning and teaching experiences, and findings with each other. The energy is high for sharing and learning.
You’re invited to join the first Moodle MOOC of its kind on WizIQ on May 31, 2013 for the opening ceremony.
The Moodle MOOC will officially begin on June 1 and end on June 30, 2013. However, participants will be able to continue learning together and receive ongoing support from the facilitators for as long as they wish after the official date. The recordings of the life sessions, the courseware and coursefeed will be available indefinitely. Yes, the MOOC will be accessible after the event. You may join and invite your friends and colleagues to team up and collaborate with you during and after the course officially ends.
You will get ongoing support from the organizer of the MOOC, from the course feed on the course, and/or by filling in the following google drive form.
The workload for the MOOC includes viewing the recording of 7 live sessions (unless you can be in the sessions) and developing a reflective artifact in the form of a blog, wiki, google drive doc, website, web page on a website and so on to sustain the information relevant to your needs and your learning experiences. In addition, participants will be able to learn to manage a Moodle website as a teacher or manager. The course activities and resources are available below.
Participants, who are active on the coursefeed (discussions), do the tasks (see resources and activities), attend all and/or view the recordings of all the sessions, reflect and write about the event and their experiences and share the link of their activities (blog, wiki, Moodle, facebook and other social networks) will be eligible for a certificate of completion.
WizIQ live virtual class is free for educators. It is great for e-learning, conducting meetings and webinars, streaming face-to-face conferences and campus-based classes, preparing videos for the flipped classroom and for blended learning, and as a course management system. The interface comes in 14 languages and it can be customized to suit your needs. I have been using it since 2007 and have never looked back.
