You know as I sit here and have been bombarded for the last 2 weeks with the Drake/Meek Mill BEEF BOWL, I have to ask myself “are we really this bored in hiphop”? I saw a really “dead on” thread in boxden (my previous post, please go read it like I said dude is dead on) and dude hit all the bases with his comments. I mean really do ya’ll care if someone else wrote MC SoNSo’s rhymes #Really (evidently it’s more of an issue than I thought).
Here’s what we wake up to in the hiphop world, FUTURE’S MAD BECAUSE RUSSELL WILSON HUGS HIS SON (film at 12). I mean come on, is this really what we care about first in our day to day exposure to information? Are we so bored that we can’t get enough of this social media dopamine that’s given to us? Why is Future’s feelings’ trending about another dude hugging his son? This is a real sigh that were really bored. That we have taken up 2 weeks with the Drake/MeekMill BEEFBOWL is crazy (now I do wanna know if someone really pissed on Drake #ImGuilty sidebar: I got the goods but I'm not gonna report it but its really funny). Drake, Meek Mill and Future have (not on purpose, let me be clear) shifted our focus on their day to day madness as opposed to us staying on top of Waller County to do the right thing in the Sarah Bland situation #SarahBland.
I’ve always believed the statement that hiphop is Urban America’s CNN and not just it’s Worldstar. I don’t know, maybe we are that bored.

Years ago when I first met Kevin, I knew he had not only a special voice but also an amazing chemistry as a person. I had a feeling that one day I would be playing some of his music in a mix (#frfr “I really felt that way). So it’s sort a special moment for me to put this mix together.
We start off with Kevin’s euro hit “IM ALIVE” (great cut with a lot of energy….) and then we blend into “WHAT YOU WANNA BE” (a real self growth anthem….). Then we hear Kevin’s version of the Chaka Kahn classic “ANY LOVE” (know now that all the vocal on “AnyLove os Kevin #Wow) and we wind it up with Kevin and his collab with the Love2Love Orchestra’ “I CANT LOVE NOBODY (till I learn to love myself ) #GreatSong.
This is some great dance music from a real class act, Kevin Bryant.
Okay The Weeknd “THE HILLS’ mix stays at #1 with the GetAtMeInDaMixxx#11 “ForTheFreakInYou” at #2. GAMIDM #9 ft TWayne's hits #3 and Born2Winn 3PcSnack “HATERS” hangs in there at #4 (big accomplishment for this new indie artist. August Alsina 3PcSnack “HIP HOP” rounds up our top 5 this week.
Man I get lots of music (#FRFR). Being honest I can’t listen to it all but at times I get an itch and man was I glad to open this message about Whitney Peyton.
You Know folks there are a lot of great new music (that no one covers, myself included) that deserves an ear but in today’s music environment it’s really crowded. Whitney Peyton although is making her way through the clutter (yall hip hop rappers need to take note). She has a band, she has online presence and he has good music (#GreatMusic).
Whitney Peyton and artist like her are using social media and live performances to create armies of supporters, but here’s the rub…. She has great music. I mean with her syncopated style and clever word twist (#RealLyricPlay) is entertaining as F*CK….. She is the real deal.
I put a mix together to “SHOW AND PROVE”. Enjoy and
On this GetAtMe3PcSnake we bring you the new artist @iheartmemphis “HIT THE QUAN” The sales numbers are already in the top 100 on itunes). Next we bring you the new Future “WHERE YA AT” (this is a driving club beat 88BPMS). We end it up with the new Meek Mill hit “CHECK” (Meek’s got some bangers on this set of music. The music will speak for itself).
As we all have had the moment this week to experience is the Drake/Meek Mill beef battle. Do you think beefs help or are they a distraction to sales? HipHop is a very competitive arena and sometime beef helps and sometime they can b a distraction. Also tonight I spotlight on Future ?WHERE YOU AT?, @iheartmemphis ?HIT THE QUAN? and SB Da G's ?LEADING LADY? ( 3 great new cuts). Join Talib and myself as we check out these new cuts and discuss BEEFs , Do they help or hurt. #GetAtMe
It went down this weekend at a Detroit strip club that had the after party for the Nicki Minaj Pink Print tour. Floyd Mayweather, Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill was book to show up at a party in Detroit. All 3 attended but within 15 minutes the party was over. Right after 1am Meek Mill and Floyd Mayweather began arguing. One of the patrons from the club says Floyd asked the DJ to play Drake Back 2 Back which is actually a Meek Mill diss record. Everybody who has been online within the last week will know Drake & Meek Mill has been in a beef over something said by Meek Mill.
Okay here’s this week’s GetAtMeTopTen (our TopTen chart calculates radio radio airplay charts, itunes sales and online traction info. We play no favorites. We just analyze and post the numbers. “At GetAtMe, we love the hit song...”. Here we go….
At #1 FettyWap’s “MY WAY” goes to the top (this guy just trades songs at the 1 spot #Wow) and #2 is RichHomieQuans’s “FLEX” (grinded all the way to the top…).
At #3 is Jeremih’s “PLANES” ft J Cole (this song rose slowly and out of nowhere shot straight to the top ten…) and #4 is Silento’s “WATCH ME” (strong sales drives this song…).
At #5 is Meek Mill’s “ALL EYES ON YOU’ ft Nicki Minaj (this song is the truth #FrFr. Still rising in spite of the online distractions…) and at #6 is Rihanna’s “BBHMM” (Still going strong….).
At #7 is Omarion’s “POST TO BE” and #8 is TWayne’s “NASTY FREESTYLE”.
At #9 is Jidenna “CLASSIC MAN” and at #10 is Drake’s “ENERGY” (the beef reenergized interest in this cut…).
With the movie coming out I wanted to do a mix where this new generation can hear NWA in its full effect, music and all. NWA blended street and protest music to create a whole new genre of hiphop music. #Enjoy #GetAtMe
You know different music affect different people differently. Kevin Bryant makes music for those who DANCE. #FrFr. Kevin has a soulful /house feel that really celebrates the voice, spirit and song. In the tradition of Whitney Houston, Martha Wash, Deborah Cox, Kevin’s voice resonates on American and European dances floors like a siren that tell all the dancers to celebrate life and the energy of life.
With titles like “IM ALIVE”, “WHO YOU WANNA BE” and “I CANT LOVE NOBODY’, Kevin not only celebrates music and dance but also life. So check out this mix and become part of the Kevin Bryant experience (I guarantee you, it’ll be a celebration.)
Okay on this GetAtMe InDaMixxx we start out with the new Young Dro “WE BE IN DA CITY” (This ones gonna be huge…).
