YG “MyNi**a” stays in the topten (what a storyt this song. It’s like the energizer bunny, it just keeps on going.)#9 JheneAiko “TheWorst” comes in due to strong radio support (she has a crazy remix with Raekwon on it #BeOnTheLookOut) and at #10 T-Pain “Up/Down”.
Beyonce’s “PartII” and ChrisBrown’s “Loyal” are the ones to watch.
Jimmy Rosemond’s murder trial in New York the other day was declared a mistrial (come on can you imagine some rapper smacking your 14 year old child and you not seeing red. That cat went to far..).Jimmy Rosemond for those of you who are not up on HipHop’s so called shadow world, well let’s just say Jimmy was a bridge lender.Jimmy managed HipHop acts (or sponsored them really) like Tupac, Game, and recently had a somewhat relationship with Gucci Mane.Jimmy had the bread to get you to the bread basically.
Jimmy’s world of HipHop finance crashed into each other when the worlds of HipHopFantasy and HipHopReality ran into each other. Here’s how that happens.HipHop is entertainment and in Hiphop many of these rappers really admired their money sponsors, but some envied them (#IHaveAllTheTalent). So in some cases these rappers create alter egos that resemble their money backers.Unfortunately when that big check comes in when that Rapper becomes a star and now everyone know his name (#Norm). The labels sometimes don’t know who to give that big check to (#hmmDecisions) .And That’s where the games begin.Lets see do I give the check to .A.The MoneyBacker (the guy who put up the bridge bread) or B. The Star (The guy who had no bread but now is very valuable).Hmmm the choices we have to make. But wait then there’s C. The Idea guy , TheHookUp (who usually has no money or talent but he went to school with the money dude and worked at UPS with the rapper) this guy also feels like the labels should give him the check because without him these guys would have never met ( I know that sounds crazy but that how TheHookUp thinks). So in a nutshell, Who gets the check?
The reason I explained this is because when HipHopFantasy(The talent) and HipHopReality(TheMoney) run into each other and HipHopEntitled(That guy C TheHookUp) who is never really seen by folks so he can keep up some real mess.Usually somehow HipHopReality (the money) goes to jail.HipHopEntitled (theHookUp) works at the label as a mougal and HipHopFantasy (TheTalent) don’t know where the money went.
There’s only a few type of people that have the means and the motivation to fund a up and coming star (it takes some real bread and a #ICanAffordToLoseItMindset).Jimmy was one of those people, TheMoney. But with The Talent flexin and TheHookUp plotting. The atmosphere of betrayal becomes real.
So in a nutshell I just explained to you how HipHopFantasy and HipHopReality can collide( with a little help from HipHopEntitled).Jimmy Henchman’s murder trial was a mistrial.Read between the lines.#StraightWithNoChaser
Well finally it's here. The long anticipated biopic "Jimi: All Is By My Side" debuts March 12th at SXSW starring Andre 3000. Two clips surfaced on youtube and finally the fans will get a glimpse of this project.
This film had to crossed many hurdles to be made. 2 failed directors (Paul Greengrass and The Hughes Brothers) and most importantly the objections from Jimi Hendix's estates (they only agreed after receiving a promise that his music wouldn't be used). How do you do a Jimi Hendix movie without Jimi Hendix's music? I guess we'll see.
The buzz on this film has been huge because this film can be a gamechanger for Andre3000 as an actor. This is a huge gamble for Andre because Jimi hendrix fans are like a cross between Grateful Dead fans and trekkies. They will be really picky as to how their hero's story will be told.
The film was written by John Ridley (the writer of "12 Years As A Slave") and you best believe his Oscar buzz will help give the new project some juice.
SXSW in Austin Texas is a great place to debut this film because the people who will be at this festival are core music fans and if the movie is strong the buzz will spread quickly.
Earlier today it has been reported that Miley might be leaving MikeWillMadeIt for a female ("She Lost her interest in Men" Okay so what).
What really should be the question is "has the magic with MikeWill and her started to fade with the music situation. I'll tell you straight up, Miley has 3 more strong singles on the album ("FU" is a monster), now why those singles are not in the marketplace can only be answered by Miley and her label.
Miley ventured into the urban market to get attention but believe me she knows her fan base are little Hannah Montanna's in the suburbs who can't wait to get to the clubs.
You see that's the luxury of being the 300 million dollar gorilla in the room. Than can do whatever they like.
It will be interesting to see what the next chapter of the Miley show will be, and we here at GetAtMe will be the first ones at the reading table to let you know whats up.
Ashanti came out on top last night with her new cut "EarlyInTheMorning" ft FrenchMontanna. But don't get me wrong this new Kevin Gates "Amnesia" is that shit.... #ForReal #ForReal. TheWeekEnd "Or Nuh" is catchy and is right in line with TheWeekEnds cut. Check it all on last nights show

"The kid is not my son". those were the lyrics from Micheal Jackson's mega smash Billie Jean. But was the the kid Micheal's son? Miki Howard was always rumoured as the person Micheal was talking to in Billie Jean. Now it seems that maybe the kid was your son Micheal.
Anyway Ms. Howard is said to be about to drop the DNA test to prove that her 31 year old son is Micheal's child. Brandon Howard does bear a striking resemblance to Micheal but here's is the problem. Billie Jean came out in 1982 and Brandon is 31. So unless she was carrying the baby after the song (which would put in question why would he write those lyrics before she was even pregnant?), then the math is off. But you never know with these crazy kids in Hollyweird.
Now the real is that Joe Jackson is probably the real father and that's where the DNA test will lead. Joe managed Miki Howard in the 80's and just looking at Joe's track record with women in LA, that makes way more sense.
So TMZ is running with the story and we'll make sure we keep you up to speed here at GetAtMe.
Miki Howard had the hit record "Love Under New Management" (#LSMH #JustMessyAsHell) and had an extended catelogue in the 80's. Check out her music, she could really sing.
Of course if she proves that Micheal was the father, then she and Brandon are going after money from the estate (#Really that's a surprise).. I know there is gonna be some judge just tickled to have this case in his or her courtroom (come on Judge Joe Brown)
Closing arguments wrapped up Tuesday, Mar. 4, in the murder-for-hire trial of the former Game manager and CEO of Czar Entertainment, James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond, and co-defendant Rodney Johnson. Henchman, 49, is facing four counts—including murder-for-hire and conspiracy to commit murder—for the September 2009 shooting death of G-Unit affiliate Lowell “Lodi Mack” Fletcher in New York City. Mack had served almost two years in prison after pleading guilty to endangering... Read more »
You know this music thing is funny. It has so many angles and the people you meet along the way, well let just say it take a lot of persistence to be involved with this industry. Then you run into JackBona. Now I don't know JackBona's whole story (nor do I care for those who got stupid shit to say) but what I have seen is a cat that puts in the work.
Success a lot of times is just about preparing yourself until an opportunity presents itself. It doesn't matter about who your clique is if your opportunity is not in your cliques destiny. Jack is putting in the work along with the Kolossal Music family. Jack wants this and you can tell that by his willingness to get things done. This guy's gonna do it.
He's been around a lot of folks and seems to be just moves away from breaking out as an artist.
If had a dollar for every time I've seen an artist change their destiny with one decision,(usually from the advice from someone who has no idea of all the cards on the table) I'd break the bank I'd be so rich..
Keep doing the work and as I said "The Opportunity Will Find You"
