GetAtMe-OnDaWallArtist-Thrift Shop - Pentatonix (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis cover)

Man we've spent so much time here at GetAtMe breaking new artist and news, we sort of slipped away from our OnDaWall section where we found great groups like VanJess and Amir, so we have brought it back.

Man these guys are hot, doing their version of "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore & Lewis,.  This is Pentatonix our ONDaWall Artist of the Day. (I'm glad I'm doing this again, #Wow).  This group is this generations Manhattan Transfer.  #Enjoy

We hope you enjoy our version of Ryan Lewis and Macklemore's "Thrift Shop"! Make sure to listen with headphones! Special Thanks to Ryan Parma, Ben Bram, and ...

GetAtMe:ItsAHit-MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS - CAN'T HOLD US FEAT. RAY DALTON (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis present the official music video for Can't Hold Us feat. Ray Dalton. Can't Hold Us on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/cant-..

Man I reviewed this earlier and this bad boy just kept on getting stronger.  First off this beat is a beast.  The intro is great for Dj's.  You got so much room to do different things in the intro.  On the dance floor this thing takes over.  This one of the few intros that's like "Wanna Be Starting Something" from MJ hit Thriller album.  I can't say enough about this video.  I mean it's a masterpiece (I mean I like the normal video's with video girls around the house but this is a work of art).  I reviewed this video again because I heard DJ Carisma from Hot 106 in LA really bring this song to life after 4th of july in her 4thOfJulyMix.  Man I gotta really listen to more of this pop product (LOL).  Its easy to stay at the top when you mean it.

I'm ReggieRedd and #ItsA #GetAtMe #GoGetter (but you already know that #IJS)

RealTalk: Macklemore and Lewis is officially the machine(these guys are for real)- MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS - CAN'T HOLD US FEAT. RAY DALTON (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis present the official music video for Can't Hold Us feat. Ray Dalton. Can't Hold Us on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/cant-..

When I  began to put together this issue of RealTalk, I was going to try to investigate why everyone thinks K. Michelle is crazy (for the record I don't.  Emotional yes, crazy no.).  But in looking at the charts this week it came  to my attention that Macklemore & Lewis had two singles in the top ten of Billboard this week (I thought noone was buying music.  That's what I was told SMH).  What an independent is selling without the blessings of the the Boss Rick Ross.  You mean some one has went around the major labels.  I can't believe they were able to do this without the illuminati (GTFOH LMAO).  For the record the theory of the reason these guys are selling more than Gucci Mane is not because of some conspiracy from white executives from the major label to take over Hip Hop ( why, because they are not on a major label).  These guy just do good music that's visually creative.  that's it.

I love Scarface but his staements about the labels borderlined on being bigoted.  How can people come from a culture of fighting intolorence become the intolorent.  We should celebrate these guys for having a dream and turning it into green.

Sometimes as Blacks maybe we are to sensitive.  I mean Scarface, Jay Prince, Suge Knight, Dame Dash, Luther Campbell were all guys that made good money off hip hop.  Why didn't they take their money and become distributors?  Who knows?  But we have to celebrate guys like Macklemore and Lewis because they did it their way.

Even with this video, this video was about Americans of all colors, creeds and social cultures.  This video is about exploring new vistas and creating a new world.

Blacks with money in hip hop have got to quit being cry babies about someone's taking hip hop and come to terms that hip hop has just grown up both as a cultural communication tools and trend setting brand statement.  If you want to see great music that's being sold by someone who is different and innovative then check out Macklemore & Lewis.

I mean 2 soundtrack cuts on major Movie soundtracks (Pain & Gain and The Internship).  The OKC Thunder have made their song "Can't Hold Us" as their hype song for the team (that's 18,000 potential buyers every game).  This group is turning out to be the new age Tag Team "Whoop There It is".  You see  "Whoop There It Is" is the largest selling single in the music business behind "White Christmas"(That a real accomplishment).

These guys sell because their fans buy.  Its that simple.

I'm Reggie Redd and that's RealTalk

"Can't Hold Us"

[Intro:]
Ay, ay, ay
Good to see you, come on in, let's go
Yeah, let's go
Alright, alright
OK, uh, alright, OK
Alright, OK

Return of the Mack, get up!
What it is, what it does, what it is, what it isn’t.
Looking for a better way to get up out of bed
Instead of getting on the Internet and checking a new hit me
Get up! Thrift shop, pimp strut walking, little bit of humble, little bit of cautious
Somewhere between like Rocky and Cosby. Sweater gang, nope, nope y’all can’t copy
Yup. Bad, moon walking, this here, is our party, my posse's been on Broadway,
And we did it, our way.
Grown music, I shed my skin and put my bones into everything I record to it
And yet I’m on.
Let that stage light go and shine on down, got that Bob Barker suit game and plinko in my style.
Money, stay on my craft and stick around for those pounds,
But I do that to pass the torch and put on for my town
Trust me. On my I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T shit hustler,
Chasing dreams since I was 14 with the four track bussing halfway cross that city with the backpack, fat cat, crushing

Labels out here,
Now they can’t tell me nothing
We give that to the people,
Spread it across the country
Labels out here,
Now they can’t tell me nothing
We give it to the people,
Spread it across the country

Here we go back, this is the moment
Tonight is the night, we’ll fight 'til it’s over
So we put our hands up like the ceiling can’t hold us
Like the ceiling can’t hold us
Here we go back, this is the moment
Tonight is the night, we’ll fight 'til it’s over
So we put our hands up like the ceiling can’t hold us
Like the ceiling can’t hold us
