RNFrostedSidebar : A Control Center-esque control with blurred background and toggle animations.

RNFrostedSidebar : A Control Center-esque control with blurred background and toggle animations. | get.idea | Scoop.it

"You'll notice that this control's use of blur does not match Jakub's original design exactly. In the original design the background of the buttons is blurred, while the overlay of the control is simply shaded. There have beenattempts at recreating this effect, but it is rumored that live-blurring takes place at a much lower level on the GPU and there would be security concerns were we to have access.

Apple is being a little deceptive with their use of blurring in iOS 7. Bottom line, don't animate blurs in your designs."

CollapseClick: functions like a UITableView, except you can collapse and open cells on a click | get.idea | Scoop.it

A collapsible list that functions like a UITableView, except you can collapse and open cells on a click. Feed it UIViews for what is shown when each cell is open. Works via delegation similar to UITableView. This is a UIScrollView Subclass.

This is a debate that rages on and on. The real answer is that there is no PROPER answer. If you prefer to define your controls in the code, that's great. Likewise for the IB fans.

i guess the part for figure and graph processing in my brain is not functioning so well as others, so i tend to build up all interfaces with pure codes.

RNBlurModalView

RNBlurModalView | get.idea | Scoop.it

RNBlurModal adds depth to the traditional modal/alert view. Calling the view is incredibly similar to setting up and showing a UIAlertView. You can also setup your own custom views and display them with a blurry background. The goal is to truly draw the user's focus directly to your alert using natural effects. This project works on all iOS devices at all orientations with ARC.

iOS 5 Face Detection with Core Image

iOS 5 Face Detection with Core Image | get.idea | Scoop.it

One of the great new features of iOS 5 is the addition of the Core Image (CI) framework.

This framework has been available for a few years on the Mac, but now its advanced image processing and filtering capabilities are available on the iOS platform as well.

One particularly cool new feature available in Core Image, on both iOS 5 and Lion, is its ability to detect faces in an image.

UITableView Tricks

From https://iphone2020.wordpress.com

"Recently we came across innovative UI controls like Path and Clear controls. I am pretty amazed to see a simple UITableView and its cells in iOS, can be tweaked to get a eye-catching effects as in Clear app. After that there came a series of controls using UITableView, but this one from raw engineering was quiet nice.

After playing with it, I revisited the nuances of UITableView and came up with this simple UI Layoout which is our topic now. Take at look at this demo"

Tutorial: Storyboard app with Core Data | MaybeLost.com | get.idea | Scoop.it

The application we will be making will be fairly simple. We will start with an empty project and design our core data layout (including some default data) which will be used in the main application and a login page. On successful login we will then display a table with a bunch of entries and associated thumbnails. We will include the ability to add and delete entries, and to use the camera to take the photo for each entry (or choose from an album). Here’s a shot of the screen flow for the application when finished….

OCCalendar: "Popover" date picker controller. | get.idea | Scoop.it

OCCalendar is a very simple component for iPhone/iPad that provides a "Popover" date picker controller. It is very easy to add to your project, and is 100% CoreGraphics code, so it uses no images, and is resolution independent. I realize that I need to cut down the size for iPhone a bit more. I originally wrote it just for iPad, and my paths and sizing are all just slightly too wide for the iPhone. I'll fix it when I get a chance.
